Three simple ways to fix this country

Actually, the first two are the most important, because if they were enacted, all the other things that need to be done would follow naturally.

1. Public financing of all state and federal political campaigns including a mandate for a fixed amount of free television and radio.

2. Paper ballots. Nuff said.

3. An end to eternal corporate citizenship. Review and renewal of all corporate charters once per decade. The death penalty for corporations found to have engaged in systemic and repeated violations of any significant law. Revision of the appropriate laws to insure that the artificial corporate entity, unimagined by the authors of the Constitution, has fewer rights than citizens, not more.

Implement these, and the first two would be ridiculously easy to do compared to something like health care reform, and the road would be clear to restoring representative democracy. These are principles around which progressives could build a grass roots movement.

1. #4 Enable Citizen Recall Election of Corrupt Prez/VP

When we encounter this type of situation where even multiple states attempting impeachment, 1/2 million or more people signing on at a time to demand investigations get no where, WE THE PEOPLE should have the right to demand a recall election at the national level of those elected officials who are doing US wrong. Ya' know, once #2 is enacted WE could actually vote and get the results WE actually intend.

8. About the corporate part, I have been thinking that we need

to make an ammendment to the Constitution to separate business and state, just like we separate Church and state. I know business needs to be regulated by government but business shouldn't have any influence in government anymore than religion is supposed to.

10. Yeah, & not to be mean, but Corporations should be (technically) 2nd class citizens in eyes of law.

The rights of a corporation should NEVER trump the rights of an individual.

So in a state where the corporation wants to dump toxic substances into the water supply they get fined and have to clean it up, just like an individual would.

If an individual walks over to their neighbor's yard, squats and takes a shit on their lawn all HELL breaks loose.

If a corporation dumps tons of shit into the air or water making it unfit for public usage, we're told to leave the poor corporate babies alone... they are busy making money so the world can go round.

11. Yea, but even though we supposedly have "separation of church & state",

these neocons have managed to "allow" the church to have extreme influence over our govt., along w/corporate influence. If we get anymore of these jerks in there, we'll have to resort to #4.

If we ever manage to get these laws, we need to strongly enforce them to deter this type of influence from both factions.
