NO MANDATE w/o A PUBLIC OPTION!
Many of you know me as an Obama "cheerleader". I have stated many times that I support a mandate because I believe that (without Single Payer) that's the only way to ensure anything approaching Universal Health Coverage.

HOWEVER. I can not and will not support a mandate unless the anti-trust exemption is revoked and we have a viable Public Option.

Now, I would like to point out that the Insurance companies LOVE the mandate. I would also like to point out that they are the ones who really killed the PO in the Senate version of the bill. So, I wonder if Reid et al stated that they would remove the mandate if there were no Public Option how quickly the PO would be put back in.

2. It is my hope that a public option will be brought back in conference...
That is, if it gets passed with both the right and the left now opposing health care (though for different reasons).

3. There are other issues - stopping States from having public health care, etc

this is a giveaway to corporate interests and they know it - that is why they fear what Dr. Dean and many others now are saying.

4. This bill has more twists and turns and dark caves where all the loop holes hide.
Do you mind explaining what the anti-trust exemption would mean if it is revoked and we have a viable Public Option-thanks.
