Maybe now Pres Obama will trade his Lincoln 'team of rivals' book for Teddy Roosevelts' Trustbusters

It is crystal clear that Republicans will vote NO against everything Obama tries no matter how hard Obama tries to reach out to them and govern in a bipartisan way.

It is time to take up the mantle of a trustbuster, ignore Republicans, and start acting with the Democratic majority to bring about real change.

1. The way this has gone, with the caving in to Lieberman and

other right wingers, proves that this is the way it is going to go until the next election. This is working for those who want to strip this bill of any substantive change. They will see that it is working and use the same tactics for every other progressive issue that comes through Congress.

Dead in the water. Until 2010, this will be the standard operating procedure...because now the right wingers have found something that works and will continue to do it, like rats pushing the correct lever to get their treats.

The Democrats rolled over right away and didn't fight at all...again. The Republicans and Lieberman exploited this weakness and naivety right away. Until 2010, at least, check mate. We are toast.
