Joe Lieberman is a pharisee
Lieberman is a living, breathing Matthew chapter 23.

* He ties up heavy loads and places them on other people's shoulders, but is then unwilling to lift a finger to help.
* Everything Liberman does is for other people to see. He loves being the center of attention, having the place of honor at functions, and being called Senator.
* Lieberman loves slamming the doors to the kingdom of Heaven shut in other people's faces so they will be like him and not be able to enter said kingdom.
* Lieberman neglects the more important matters of the law — justice, mercy and faithfulness. He strains out gnats but swallows an f-ing camel in the process.
* He loves appearing as some sort of righteous person, but on the inside he is full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

I could go on for quite a while. But I also hope that Christ's warning about how he who exalts himself will be humbled rings true in 2012.

1. Don't go there...
Lieberman and his defenders like nothing more than to cast all opposition to him as "anti-Semitism."

2. Lieberman and his spouse...
are being well paid, by the health care for profit bunch, for his obstructions.

Joe has become the rock that Sisyphus rolls to the top of the hill.

5. The money angle doesn't adequately explain his treason

The early buy into Medicare would have saved his insurance benefactors untold billions. Interesting article from last night's Mike Malloy show.

Sen. Joe Lieberman’s latest threat to scuttle health-care reform – vowing to join a Republican filibuster to block an over-55 buy-in to Medicare, a proposal that he has long championed – is raising questions about his motives. But no one is mentioning the unmentionable, the cause that has come to define Lieberman’s career: Israel.
