Cindy Sheehan..Dear Mr. President...
you gotta hand it to her...Cindy is relentless.. Bless her.

I am a Charity!
Dear Mr. Obama,

I hear that you were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize recently in Oslo, Norway and that, in addition to that spiffy medal, it comes with 1.4 million tax-free dollars that you are going to "donate to charity."

I just want to let you know that there are still some of us in the US who oppose the wars, even though you are president, and its nothing personal, but I vehemently oppose your wars and especially oppose the escalation of troops to Afghanistan and the fact that there has been no de-escalation from Iraq.

It has been super-tough being a peace activist since you took office, because a lot of my colleagues supported your candidacy and gave you a "wait and see"and "give him a chance," while I have been working against these policies since Bush was president and have never stopped.

Well, I don´t know if you have heard, but I am planning on setting up a Camp right across the street from your house on the lawn of the Washington Monument called--Camp OUT NOW--Not only will it be an anti-war Camp, but it will also be a community for people who have lost their jobs and homes during the past years of the Goldman Sachs depression. Also, while the need is rising, the city of Washington, DC is cutting back on services for the poor.

Mr. Obama, Camp OUT NOW will provide services to these people AND be the launching pad for what we hope will end the mad wars for profit and imperial power in Iraq-Afghanistan-Pakistan.

You proposed a "Just War" theory during your Nobel acceptance speech and I just want to also let you know that we don´t think, and never have thought, these wars are "Just," but we think what we are doing, beginning March 13th is extremely, "Just." I think if you thought about it really hard, you would agree. We are saving the lives of Americans and our brothers and sisters in the Middle East.

Well, Mr. Obama, the reason that I am writing to you is to apply for part of that money that you will be donating to charity. We don´t need all of it, but my coalition--Peace of the Action--could use a couple of hundred thousand of it!

Please go to www.PeaceoftheAction.org for more info about our efforts, which we are hoping will, "Make you do it."

You can go to www.Paypal.com and put in my email address: [email protected] to make a donation online, or mail a check to:

PO BOX 6264

Vacaville, Ca 95696

You did say, time and again, during your campaign that we the people had to "make you," and Peace of the Action will do just that! We just want to be of service to show you the way to Peace.

Thanks for your consideration,

Cindy Sheehan

Director of the Peace of the Action Coalition

7. Nice letter. It just occurred to me that if the President makes public his choice of charity.
There's going to be DU hell to pay, no matter w.t.f. charity it is.

This is a nice letter, Cindy is a good woman and I support her.

8. Great Letter & Once Again Thank You Cindy!! A Lady Who Has NEVER Stopped
"fighting the good fight!" I urge all of you who really care about this country to do what you can to STOP more escalation, and for those of you who can actually get to D.C. to show up in big numbers!

I myself am going to try, but times are tough and tightening my belt is something that most of us are having to do! I may in the end just say "screw it" and do whatever I can to get there, just need to find a way I can work it out!

I DO FEEL this is one of the MOST important rallies because it's a Democratic President and not just BFEE! Let our voices be heard, PLEASE!! If I can't attend perhaps I can scrounge around to send some money! After Christmas, I need eye surgery that will dip into what money I've saved, plus my house needs a new roof so I can get home owners insurance. It's a tough call for me and I'm sure for so many more here!

I'll save the wish bone from the Christmas turkey to make wish that I can find a way to get there! Yeah, I'm down to wishing on a wish bone! Crazy yes, but I'm one who was raised a Catholic but left the church a long time ago. I watched Julia Sweeney's documentary about breaking away from the church and becoming an atheist, and while I found so funny, it really describes just how I feel! so my prayers to a God aren't really something I feel is a way that I can go! As she so clearly stated, if there really was a God... he wouldn't let so many people go without care, and so many countries abuse their citizens. Bottom line, why do others have to suffer FOR NO REASON, other than where they were born and other countries have so much wealth! Doesn't make sense to me, so I'm with her!

Thanks again, Cindy!

20. K&R
She was one of the first military mothers to stand up against the War in Iraq, at a time when it took a lot of courage to do so.

Good for her for never giving up on what could really be called 'Just'.

12. Thank you Cindy for all you are doing for peace.
Seems Obama has left the people and put himself smack in front of the military industrial complex without any understanding of the historical position he is in to at least attempt some change as he marketed in his campaign.

19. Thank you, Cindy . . .
We have a lot of illusion about what it takes to be President -- or any elected

official --

and I'd say most of what we imagine is wrong --

What it really takes is a HUMANIST --

Thanks, Cindy --
