Mr. President, you should seek professional help, immediately. (an open letter)
Edited on Sat Apr-21-07 07:47 AM by Philosoraptor
It's become frighteningly obvious that you are deeply disturbed and in way over your head Mr. President, you cannot handle what is going on around you, you've surrounded yourself with pals and loyalists and toadies and all they do is enable you.

We know you've been drinking again you can no longer hide it. We were alarmed last year when you began grinding your jaw while you spoke, the obvious side effect of medications unknown to us. Now the grinding is gone, did you have a bad reaction to the medicines you are taking? How many are you taking and what kind?

You've been slurring your speech, and speaking incoherently in public, again, and many of us are becoming increasingly alarmed that a man in your position has so many untreated mental problems.

We know you have a decades long history of alcohol and cocaine abuse, we know you are a recovering addict and that it's all too tempting for a man in your position to backslide on your twelve step programs. Perhaps a stint at the Betty Ford Institute might help, or maybe try mark foley's analyst and maybe try the rehab center he attended, he seems to be cured of whatever was ailing him.

Many of us realize what you are going through because we've been through it ourselves, and we recognize a man in trouble when we see one. You should really seek immediate professional help, your powerful position requires it, we want only the most fit persons to occupy this office, and at this time you are not fit to govern, not fit to make life and death decisions, and not fit to be the president of the United States.

There is NO SHAME in admitting you have mental problems, millions of Americans have them and many have had good results with treatment. At this point, you are in serious denial, which is common in addicts, but you really need to take the important first step to recovery. There is simply too much at stake for you to ignore this problem any longer.

The news is full of stories of people who didn't seek help for their mental problems, and none of them have happy endings. We will not ridicule you, we will in fact respect you even more for taking the first step to recovery and admit that there IS a serious problem.

We know it, and you know it too Mr. President, please, don't delay the inevitable any longer, don't play games with the nation and the world, seek help immediately, you'll be glad you did, the whole world will thank you for it, and maybe for once in your life, you'll finally find the happiness that has always eluded you.

1. yea right that would mean he would first
have to admit he has a problem-the first step in all recovery. If history of this man shows anything it's that he doesn't have it in his make-up to say to himself he's EVER wrong-about anything

2. You can't help a stupid fuck like him.
Only being sent to the loony bin will fix it.

Late last night I saw a replay of the president's appearance in Ohio.....honestly, I have no idea what he was talking about or referring to with the 'chicken plucking' thing! He has lost it, to put it mildly. I would love to be a little mouse in the WH to hear and see what's really happening. In all seriousness, can the Congress do anything about his inability to rationally carry on in his presidency?

edit:spelling

Neither can the press.

7. One correction: Bush never DID a 12 steps program, which is

why he's so much more prone to backsliding. He alleged "God" did it all for him.

As a Christian, I feel - and have personal examples of this feeling - that God can HELP a person make live-changing decisions, but God does not claim to do this alone and without the person's individual help.

Bush doesn't do anything for the good of it - simply for how it will advance his career.

8. oh great. what a way to wake up.
You realize that his mental state is not dissimilar to Seung Hui Cho's? He thinks everyone hates him, they laugh at his rug, his personal pole has gone poof, what with his girl moving out, and all.

The more that people criticize, the crazier he gets. How long before he snaps? How long before Cheney takes control because of Bush's breakdown? Then, how long before martial law is declared (to protect us from an iminent threat) only for a very temporary basis?

18. More than worrisome
because he has the power to start illegal wars in which thousands of innocent men, women, and children could die. Wait, he already has done that. Yet he still occupies OUR White House. God help us all.
