The crowd's applause as she finished gave Obama time to compose an answer.

"I can only imagine how you feel, as a father and as a parent," he said. "I don't go to a single town-hall meeting where I don't meet a mother or father who either is seeing a loved one go over there or has already lost someone, or has a loved one who has come back injured.

"So I make a solemn pledge to you, as president we will be out of Iraq," Obama said to loud applause.


I hope so ...............I hope so...sooner than later.

7. What is Barack Obama supposed to do now?

He's proposed a plan to get the troops out early next year. He's voted in favor of every other Democratic plan to bring our troops home. He was against the war before it started.

As one Senator, what do you expect him to do now?

He's not the president now. If he was, he could stop it, but he's not; and he can't do anything outside of the system that's in place. Criticizing him for not bringing our troops home NOW is just ignorant and stupid.
