Corruption is destroying the soul of US society, warns FBI agent
One of the FBI's top agents warned yesterday that corruption in the US was increasing and tearing at the fabric of society.

Special agent John Gillies, who has led major anti-corruption drives during his 27-year career with the bureau, focused his words primarily on crooked financiers and unscrupulous officials.

However, he added that sporting heroes such as Tiger Woods were also to blame, letting down children who saw them as role models. The golfer is currently embroiled in scandal since his high-profile car crash on 27 November. "Money can't buy everything," Gillies said.

He told a chamber of commerce meeting in Boca Raton, Florida, that failures in personal ethics and integrity sowed the initial poisonous seeds of corruption in a society.

He said that fallen sporting heroes sent the wrong message to the young: that cheating was acceptable.

WTF...Tiger??

If it takes Tiger Woods having multiple affairs to destroy the soul of US society, then our society was already screwed.

11. I think you nailed it. I think this guy and maybe his son really looked
up to Tiger and now he is devastated. I can't believe someone would care that much about a golfer.

20. Not to mention the anthrax murders, and the rampant white-collar fraud
pervasive in just about every industry with any access to big money. These things the FBI is actually mandated to investigate and prosecute.

And what about corrupted elections? No role for the FBI there?

Who TF is this guy?

28. You are so right.
As long as we choose to "look forward" instead of upholding the rule of law we are condoning corruption.

Two investigations I would like to see started today. The yellow cake forgery and Bush's AWOL. There are about a million more.

23. Absafuckinglootely.
Yes, with Tiger. Florida has a corruption problem. It has proven over and over again that celebrities get special treatment. That's just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole layer of people who are being given a pass. i.e. land issues and the chamber of commerce connections. Hello? Where have you all been?

And you know what, you can fix it quickly if you start with the lawyers.

25. and the most corrupt are the federal law enforcement folks
they lie and cheat in court every chance they get. It's no wonder they have a 99.2% conviction rate. Almost federal cops, prosecutors, judges and probation officers are a bunch of lying arrogant scum bags. It's no wonder some of them get shot sometimes!!! I don't condone it, but it's just like the 4 cops who got killed in Lakewood, Washington the court system fucked with Maurice Clemons and manipulated the system so he would have to post bail twice and basically bankrupted him and was causing him to lose his home. Don't get me wrong, he was a dangerous dude also..but if you're gonna deal with some body then be upfront about it. Don't pull a bunch of dirty low handed sneaky shit, which is what the feds and our court system does all the time.

26. As much as I think sports figures are fallible and SHOULD NEVER
ever be used as role models, they are role models. So tiger is more of a sign of the problems.

Now to the Agent... YOU THINK????? This is the ethos that came to be accepted under Reagan... oh and don't get me wrong, been there in the background... for all of US history, but it became the thing to do under Reagan in the modern period. Steal, lie and cheat to become rich, and avoid getting caught...

Want some war stories?
