I've had it...
Edited on Tue Dec-08-09 04:50 PM by Subdivisions
All fucking day long the biggest story has been Tiger's MIL's tummy ache.

WHAT A GODDAMNED FUCKING JOKE!!! I MEAN...REALLY?

First thing this morning on Mourning Schmo they had Tiger's career and reputation in ruins while showing that incessant clip of her being rolled from the ambulance to the hospital entrance. I swear to Pete that they were holding a wake for Tiger while no one yet knew that it was his MIL. I don't know how much speculating about who it could be and why they might be in a condition that required emergency medical care went on during the show because I turned that shit off.

And RIGHT NOW they're playing the fucking 911 call Elin made balling that her mother had collapsed.

Again, what a fucking goddamned joke!

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

1. The shelf life is almost over, hang in there. Something new and shiny
will come along shortly to distract from the distraction.

2. If it wasn't for the internet and the rare liberal talk radio show, we'd be as loony as teabaggers.
Maybe that's their problem. They only watch teevee and listen to RW radio.

31. Free Speech TV, Link carry real news, Amy, Thom, Laura Flanders
niche news shows -- Gay USA, Mosaic (middle east), native American news, In Their Boots (Vets news) documentaries you don't see anywhere.

3. but it's important NEWS.
don't you understand that it's more important than 400 people blown to bits in Iraq, hundreds of millions of our dollars being carted out the door by the Karzi regime, more important than 5 million people out of work and a fucking snowstorm coming to freeze them where they sit.

Our country is fucked.

It's the only station I can stomach these days and only in very small doses.

18. I dumped MSNBC early last year. I can't stomach any opinion cable "news" shows at all.
I may watch Larry King a dozen or so times a year but I usually don't make it past the first segment.

22. Having abandoned broadcast news several years ago, then CNN and
now MSNBC, I am now free of all corporate propaganda and diversion. I simply don't know who to believe on important information. I am tired of information, events, or issues that need publicity but are being ignored. I'm sick of the sensationalism and morbid gawking. It's rather sad that the only things you can believe in the media are the reports of crimes committed, police chases, and disasters.

6. I agree.
It's not like there's anything else to report on.

Important things like:

- What's Sarah Palin doing today? Where is she? How long are the lines for autographs?

- What did Dick Cheney say today?

- Has a blonde celebrity been arrested for drunk driving?

- Are there any missing children flying around in a balloon?

- What is Nancy Grace outraged about this week?

- What did a Democrat somewhere say about a Republican somewhere that the GOP is outraged over?

- Which actress did TMZ photograph while out shopping without make up on?

- The latest rumor on which actress/actor are splitsville?

Really, they can hardly even be called media anymore if they ignore all these important NEWS stories!

:sarcasm: for the challenged.

10. The corporate media is a dysfunctional institution, the vast majority having abandoned
any pretense to informing or enlightening the American People as to the critical issues and developments; affecting their lives, it's all part of the shell game, distraction, dumbing down process; done so in order to make it easier for their client corporations, oligarchs and powers that be to use and take advantage of an ignorant, general populace.

Kicked and recommended.

Thanks for the thread, Subdivisions.

36. Since my message to you above was deleted, and rightly so, I'll just say this
You have accused me for the second time of being a no-planer and when I corrected you the last time you admitted you had me confused with someone else. So, I'll say this one more time in way that maybe you will comprehend:

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT NO PLANES WERE INVOLVED IN THE ATTACKS OF 9/11!

Got it?

as time goes on he will be a hero because he had so many women.

I believe that really a lot of these men are doing the same thing but, they can't believe that Tiger got caught and some of their wives have probably now become suspicious.

Some of these men are silently praising him and saying they didn't know he had it in him..

26. media reform?
The consolidation of the media continues apace: Comcast acquires NBC, etc. Expect it to get worse.

The media can destroy a candidate with a single edited news clip. They took out Howard Dean with a cheer hyped to ugly. They took out John Edwards with a hair cut. Kucinich is unelectable 'cause he's just too short. And every newsie talk head dutifully picks up the frame and spins it.

Can you imagine anyone as ugly as LBJ being elected these days? The man wouldn't stand a chance. The media would be all about his ears. Jimmy Carter would be shut out by his brother. The Bush family with its attempts at secrecy and media control survives.

This is not a recipe for an open, transparent government.
