Edmund Burke is believed to have said those words.

They should serve as a friendly reminder for those whose job it is to stand up for what is right.

That includes Democrats in Congress.

That includes the Obama White House.

That includes us, American citizens.

It's one thing to write a rant on DU or elsewhere - which, believe me, I have done.

It's another thing to help make the change. To be the change.

Are you gonna sit around - bashing the status quo with your words but letting your actions suggest that you don't mean what you say?

Or are you gonna do something?

5. The attribution of that quote to Burke is probably incorrect...
...but it's worth noting that political correctness in the 1700s is not exactly what it is today.

4. A big part of the problem is that many people don't know how to "do something."
I'm not of the opinion that most people around here are just lazy keyboard warriors, but we do a piss poor job in this country of educating people on how to be informed, responsible citizens.
