8. are you flipping back and forth between snow and rain?
I'm south of the Galleria, and the snow started to accumulate about 3 hours ago but then it went back to a rain/snow mix, so most of the stuff has melted.

where my office is located, we had a good 2 inches by noon. Big fluffy flakes. Had to scrape the car windows off!

9. That's a very rare thing.
I remember it snowing once down there when I was in high school in Pasadena. I had just moved from Colorado so couldn't see why everyone was so excited, but when it never snowed again in the seven years I lived down there, I understood.

10. It snowed last December, too. That's when I found out there were streetlights on 610
that still hadn't been fixed from Ike. Discovering this after dark, with snowing blowing directly into my windshield, was not a fun experience.

11. It flurried occasionally when I lived in Houston, many years ago.
Drivers there acted like it was a Minnesota blizzard...

Be careful if you get out! :)

15. Two days of it already in El Paso
With pea soup fog during the first night. City was gridlocked with ice this morning. The sun is finally melting most of it off right now. Apart from my bozo dogs tracking mud into every corner of the house, it's been a treat.

24. We had a good snow in Katy
hard to say how much, maybe an inch or two. Some may laugh at us, but this is a nice amount of snow for us. And, I only think it's great because there was no way I was going into work today, so I've been home working. :D

25. We got about 5 teeny weeny itsy bitsy flakes here in Austin
and everyone acted as if it were the end of the world.

I crack up anytime announces a "snow weather event" here.

I originally come from the north east. today's "snow" wouldn't even warrant a blink back there.

27. When I lived in DC, people acted the same way. Pretty silly, considering it snowed
more than once each winter I spent there. It's different in Austin. I used to live there, and snow events are so rare that I once looked at an old picture of my car with 3-4 inches of snow on it and thought, "I didn't remember having that car when I was in Chicago," only to realize that yes, it had snowed once while I was living in Austin.

26. I didn't move to Texas to be snowed on.
Especially as early as this -- snowed here in North Texas a couple of days ago.

But I was in Houston one day when it snowed there, many years ago.

30. "like hell" is a throwback -- a colloquialism from my south side chicago youth
or should that be "yout'"?

It was surreal and cured my autumn homesickness a little. I call Fall in Houston "Chicago summer". Same weather -- sunny, warm days, cool nights (lol 60's), flora & fauna at its most lush.
