Problem with mass-breeding/family "reality" shows on TLC and Discovery Health:
They're always praying, praying, praying, in true fundie fashion.

I think these kinds of shows belong on the religious channels instead!

2. I watch them until....
They push the Christian right "values" too far (usually the second or third show of a series).

3. I've been noticing that too. They seem to be pushing this more and more, it's
been a long time since I've listened to either, I just notice the titles/summaries as I skip by them on the TV menu. Exactly, they belong under religious programs (programming the masses). I wish I could only pay for what I want on cable. At one time I thought this was going to happen, but that sure got squished by the corporate stranglehold on citizens. I resent paying for bundled channels on cable.

6. +1 to this.
One of my greatest wishes in life is ala carte cable. I HATE having to pay for 85 channels of crap just so I can watch the only 3 channels I like to see. And of course, ALWAYS the 3 channels I want to see are in the top tier of programming, while they fill the bottom tiers full of junk like home shopping networks, local cable access, and 5 channels of 24-7 religious programming.

I think Congress should pass a law to stop this practice. It's ridiculous.

10. Totally agree
I swear that DirecTv monitors the channels I watch just so they can move them to a higher package.

I was getting into the Smithsonian Channel, and one day it just disappeared. I now have to upgrade to get it, and I'm not in a low tier plan to begin with. Total piracy.

4. I enjoy learning about people that are different than me
But it would be nice if they had a little more diversity in them. The Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby usually does a pretty good job of showing many different and diverse couples. I've even seen some gay couples on the Baby Story. One of my favorite TLC shows right now is the Little Couple. They're just a sweet couple that hasn't been ruined by the fame, not yet anyway. I watched the TLC show about the Little Mermaid girl. She had the cutest laugh and you could tell she just loved life and loved to go out and enjoy the things that she could do. I was saddened to hear of her passing. The story about the two teenage conjoined twins was pretty interesting too. They too just seem to have a joy about them. They are enjoying their life and enjoying being teenagers. I love learning about people even the large Christian families. I do wish they could show a little more diversity however.

7. I,too, like the Little Couple
I can't stand the ones that encourage breeding. I just clench my teeth when some family like the Duggers go on a different show and the crowd goes wild when they say how many kids they have or that the mother is pregnant again.

5. The remote control is so hard to use
these days. It seems too many people have lost the ability to change the station to one they prefer.

8. There aren't many stations to choose from anyway.
Only about 500, and (almost) nothing left I can stand....
