Gonzales trained for his appearance before the Senate for weeks on end just to say "I can't recall" dozens of times?

1. I thought the same thing
I guess you'd just have to imagine what it would have been like had he not prepared.

2. Did You Watch The Daily Show?
Jon Stewart did a piece which said exactly the same thing.

He also pointed out that Gonzo said "I Don't Recall" a total of 45 times Before the lunch break.

4. Here's the thing
It's easy to sound convincing when you're telling the truth. It's a whole different thing to do it when you're lying out your ass.

5. That was the coaching part.
He kept answering questions...so Karl would dunk him again, slap the back of his head with a phone book and scream "I DON'T RECALL! I DON'T RECALL! Now, again...what are you going to say when they ask you if you were ever contacted by Dimenici?"

.

10. To think that Gonzalez is in the position he's in is very disturbing.
He is obviously not qualified for the job, but that seems to be the status quo with this group.

Bush isn't qualified to be President, wasn't elected by the people in 2000, and stole the votes in 2004. He was AWOL from service during the Vietnam years, failed at every business venture he undertook, and is a drunk and drug abuser.

Dick Cheney is as corrupt as can be, and has a long history of dirty business deals. He got deferment after deferment to avoid serving his country.

Condi Rice, well, I won't even get started with her. Her record in public service speaks for itself: she ignored all the warnings prior to 9/11, allowing that disaster to happen. She should have her butt kicked out of the country permanently.

And then we have Gonzo: how inept can a person possibly be? He's a small person, in stature as well as in morals, ethics, and judgement. He has corrupted and politicized our Justice Department. He's a disgrace to America.

These people join a distinguished line up of failures in the Bush Administration. Let's not forget "Heck of a job Brownie" who allowed New Orleans to disappear from the map, its residents to die in the streets, and oversaw a dismal response to a natural disaster.

Honestly, I don't think it would be easy to find a less qualified group to run our country.

12. His testimony reminded me of a line from the Blues Brothers...
"Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD."
