Mike Huckabee – Minister of Death – This isn’t the first time
He let a rapist go, someone who “repented.” The rapist moved to Missouri right away and killed a woman. Huckabee is a monster.

"At the start of his first term, Huckabee took a special interest in the Dumond case and had plans to commute his sentence. When an irate public stopped that, the new governor effectively lobbied the pardon's board. Just four months after they'd denied a Dumond parole request, the board ruled favorably. These events and a broader narrative of the case were well documented by investigative journalist Murray Waas.

"Dumond was released on parole in 1999. Just months after the parole, he bound, gagged, and suffocated a Missouri woman. He was convicted of that murder and a suspect in another by the time he was confined to a Missouri state prison where he died in his cell.

"Huckabee continues to deny his role in the pardon despite the evidence amassed by Waas and others. On Aug. 31, 2007, Associated Press (AP) reported that the Wikipedia entry on Huckabee was edited to delete critical references to the Dumond pardon. AP traced the source of the edits to Arkansas state government computers."

18. :)
It was posted by a TOPIX autobot but got so many hits, it just stayed there. It was strange in that
few would comment. I was fully prepared to take a cyber beat down but there was full tolerance and no nastiness. I was happy to be wrong!

19. It was for sure with Dumond
Check out the link for Murry Waas in the quotation above.

In this guy's cae, I'm about 99.9% sure he got out through "forgiveness" for special people.

EVERY inmate "finds God". It always looks good for the parole board.

11. Thanks for the first hand info
Seeing cons profess their faith has always seemed like b.s. to me. Son of Sam, David Berkowitz, is
the one who really pushed things over the cliff on that claim.

I spent a day in the Bronx House of Detention (as a guest of the shift supervisor) and every guy
I met was innocent too! Of course there are some and that's the tragedy but "finding God" doesn't
cut it.

12. That's the deal - folks of his ilk
Dumond was a particularly nasty case. The prosecutor practically begged the parole board not to release him but, hey, it was "Minister of Death" moment.

How many more miscreants are out there that Huckabee let loose? Someone should ask the Minister that.

25. Where is the chimp, anyway?
There are probably no trees left on his faux ranch ... oh, wait, he sold that right after he
left office. Now he's an urban cowboy, prowling the perimeter of his property looking for new
suckers.

10. Mike Huckabee: Soft On Crime, Soft On Criminals!
Yeah, that should be his (unofficial) campaign slogan..

The guy is obviously a moron who holds a special interest in freeing prisoners who now profess to being god botherers. Is it just a religious whack-a-doodle ploy to free his "persecuted brethren"?

Good work, Mr. Collins.. I thought there was another one he had released that did something bad. I think it came out during his last Presidential campaign, but was slightly glossed over/ignored because nobody expected him to win anyways.

Recommended....

Peace,

Ghost

Nice graphic! So true.

There's a CNN update right now on the Seattle shootings. I wonder how Huckabee sleeps at night?

Guess old Mitt is in the drivers seat now for the booby prize - the 2012 Repub nomination. Hey,
I hear the world is ending anyway so Huckabee is saved by the rupture;)

22. Dumond was a cause-celeb among RW because of Clinton Connection
Edited on Mon Nov-30-09 05:35 PM by RamboLiberal
From ABC News Today.

Prior to his imprisonment for rape, Dumond's record included a conviction for assault and his alleged involvement in a slaying and one other rape. Stevens, the victim in the 1985 rape for which he was convicted, was a distant relative of Bill Clinton's, and Dumond became a cause celebrity among some who thought he had been dealt with harshly because of the victim's relationship to then-Governor Clinton. Huckabee had originally indicated a desire to commute Dumond's sentence, but decided not to after unfavorable public response.

The governor was also apparently relying on information he got from Steve Dunleavy, first as a correspondent for the tabloid television show “A Current Affair” and later as a columnist for the New York Post.

Much of what Dunleavy has written about the Dumond saga has been either unverified or is demonstrably untrue. Dunleavy has all but accused Ashley Stevens of having fabricated her rape, derisively referring to her in one column as a “so-called victim,” and brusquely asserting in another, “That rape never happened.”

The columnist wrote that Dumond was a “Vietnam veteran with no record” when in fact he did have a criminal record. He claimed there existed DNA evidence by “one of the most respected DNA experts in the country” to exonerate Dumond, even though there was no such evidence. He wrote that Bill Clinton had personally intervened to keep Dumond in prison, even though Clinton had recused himself in 1990 from any involvement in the case because of his distant relationship with Stevens.

“The problem with the governor is that he listens to Jay Cole and reads Steve Dunleavy and believes them ... without doing other substantative work,” the state official said.

his religion!

Huckabee went above and beyond to let Wayne Dummond out of prison so he could turn around and kill again.

I find it interesting that these Repuglicans refuse to take any responibility for their actions.
