Rove: I wish the Iraq war never existed" and "It was OBL's idea"

Rove: ‘I Wish The Iraq War Never Existed,’ It Was ‘Osama Bin Laden’s Idea’

rovebush82234.jpgOn a visit to Ohio yesterday, White House senior political adviser Karl Rove claimed he never wanted the war in Iraq:

“I wish the war were over,” Rove said. “I wish the war never existed... History has given us a challenge.”

In September 2002, Time reported that when friends asked whether Bush planned to invade Iraq, Rove was been known to reply, “Let me put it this way: If you want to see Baghdad, you’d better visit soon.”

Rove also claimed yesterday that it was bin Laden, not President Bush, who decided to launch the Iraq war:

In a question-and-answer period after his speech, Rove was asked whose idea it was to start a pre-emptive war in Iraq.

“I think it was Osama bin Laden’s,” Rove replied.

4. True. The article speaks of his 2002 actions. But I am savoring the main rats
jumping ship now...
And hey, at least, they are not blaming the Clenis!

Oh, and he wanted the US military out of Arabia too. bush/cheney junta did both things that Osama wanted done.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

16. No, it was a rather inelegant wording
of a 9/11-Iraq link.

9. Is Rove that disconnected? Or is he counting on the faithful
to be or feign that level of ignorance?

12. Well, any way you look at it, BushCo did just what bin Laden wanted
But then it's a reciprocal relationship with both sides getting perks and benefits.

15. The bin-Laden question is kind of twisting his words around.
In the original transcript, the speaker was asking whose idea it was to engage in pre-emptive war. Rove said, "I think it was Osama bin Laden's," in a sarcastic voice, trying to push home the idea that bin Laden started the preemptive-strike business on 9/11. While extremely misleading, it isn't the "Osama Wanted Us To Invade Iraq" point the TP article made.

17. We all got what he was trying to say -f*ed up as it is. Still, it does sound like
he was doing OBL's bidding, when you think he was fanning the flames from day one (or day minus 365)
To me a few things stand out:
- someone at a meeting where everyone is screened took him to task with that question

- "Mr message" no longer tells their foot soldiers.donors that victory is at hand

-it's as close to an admission of a f* up that you'll ever going to get.
And that's without any twisting - that we all did more out of schadenfreuse and a sense of irony.

A tragic--yet entirely forseeable--outcome.

20. K Rove ='s seriously deranged psychotic, dysfunctional human.
He really needs some time with family. Whoops, he doesn't really have any, right? Well then, off to a quite retreat, um-kay, Karl?

21. what a cheap shot!
lies are so easy to say - what's even more disgusting is that anyone actually believes such outrageous lies, and there's no public outcry. Where's the tsunami? This administration should be booted out while they're still in office.

Everyone knows Osama was busy writing the Patriot Act.

Is that what he said? What, after manipulating elections and hijacking our government, now he wants to manipulate history to protect his legacy?

24. So with this logic...
... Viet Nam was Ho Chi Minh's idea...

I love how the repug response to anything that they change their simple little silly minds about is "finger pointing"...

They will never... ever... ever, own the responsibility that is theirs to own...

Beside that... Rove is an idiot. :headbang:

their war. Even he knows you don't introduce a new product during the summer. :eyes:
