Let's debunk another rw talking point, shall we?
Are you tired of hearing the war mongers say that more people are murdered in __________ (fill in the name of any US city here) than the number of US soldiers who are dying in Iraq?

Well I looked into this and in 2003, Chicago was the US murder capital. 600 homicides. Number of soldiers killed in Iraq in 2003: 574

http://icasualties.org/oif/

Remember that 574 died in only 9 months. (War started in March)

So Chicago had an average of 50 per month and our soldiers died at an average rate of 63 per month in 2003.

As of the 4 year anniversary of the war last month, we were averaging nearly 70 dead soldiers a month in Iraq.

If you expand the numbers out and get a per capita rate, New Orleans is in the lead now with a rate of 96 murders for 100,000 people. How many troops are in Iraq? More than 96 per 100,000 are dying every year.

Anyway, I could do all the math here but I hope you get the point. Mathematically, our troops in Iraq are at far greater risk of death than they would be in any city in the US.

1. its simple math, there are 140,000 soldiers there
Its only relevant to tell me the murder rate in a city of 140,000 people.

But these dumbass wingnuts are incapable of adding 2 + 2 let alone such a complex math algorithm.

:sarcasm:

3. They'll say anything to keep their happy fun little war going
They'll say that all the deaths in Iraq were actually raptures. They'll say that the deaths were all due to soldiers tripping and falling downstairs. They'll say that they were all due to old age and they died in their sleep. Whatever they think someone will believe, they will say it - because they will do anything to keep it going forever.
