Poll question: What is the best way to characterize people who wanted the House health care bill to pass?
Note that this includes the people who voted for it.

Variations of these four choices have floated around here. What is the consensus?

1. It's certainly not a perfect bill
but it does give us a few things to work with, like getting rid of their antitrust exemption.

Whether or not any of the good stuff passes the corrupt Senate is the question.

It's just too soon to say.

(Given a rec to frustrate that Freeper with no life who unrecs every post)

3. Hopefully the Senate will actually kill the worst part
of the House bill, the Stupak amendment.

4. Don't hold your breath on that one
My guess is that there are enough antichoice assholes in there to keep it alive and well, unlike the half of the population it throws under the bus.

5. Actually, I don't think Reid has any choice but to leave it out of
the bill before the amendment process. Both HELP and Finance rejected Stupak amendment's language.

6. Isn't that repeal of the anti-trust exemption only as good as the administration in office
. . . and the willingness and effectiveness of the FTC in regulating the industry? I agree that it's a good part of the bill, but I'm going to have to wait to see what this administration actually does to regulate and force states to unravel the protections they've relied on in the past to allow the monopolies to flourish.

7. Private suits for antitrust violations are a current part of the law.
cable companies, Microsoft--lots of corporations get sued under them.
