Any other average-looking older man who married an attractive woman half his age would bring down the wrath of the Outrage Brigade, but somehow Dennis manages to avoid this condemnation.

Miraculous!

Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 11:05 PM by Orrex
It's possible to condemn some of Obama's actions while supporting other actions.

It's kind of like the way Kucinich's supporters praise him for the courage of his convictions while conveniently overlooking his opposition to reproductive freedom--a stance that he abandoned as a matter of political expedience.

37. Your flippant attitude towards a principled man confused me
I wouldn't think anyone opposed to Mr. Hope n' Change's Middle East slaughter and private insurance reform could churn out the sort of OP that sits at the top of this page.

My mistake.

Kucinich's acolytes are frequently dazzled by what they perceive as his incorruptible character, such that they dismiss criticisms of him as "flippant" or the like, and they identify such criticisms as symptomatic of Obama worship, etc.

25. The San Francisco Chronicle had a good article on it
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0223-05.htm

But Kucinich also possesses one of the most anti-abortion voting records of any Democrat in Congress.

You can argue that Kucinich had his change of heart after much reflection and deep thought, and you can argue that the decision was wholly independent of the realization that he'd look like an asshole if he went into the Democratic campaign season as a foe of reproductive freedom. You can argue these points, but probably not successfully.

If any other candidate had undergone such a significant and conspicuously-timed change of position, I doubt you'd be as willing to believe the integrity of that candidate's claims.

Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 11:53 PM by G_j
that is still your opinion. Kucinich is not like any other politician I've known. One certainly can argue about his motivation.
Unless he stated it was political expediency, it's conjecture..
