Get out.
It's not a popular theme, nor does it appeal to "progressive" thinkers.

Regardless, get out.

Get out of debt.

Get out of legal entanglements.

Get out of the U.S.

We're an empire in decline. Don't buy into the hype...get out and enjoy life.

1. Where are you planning to go?

I haven't been able to decide on a country without problems, not to mention that, unlike the US, most countries don't allow a lot of people to become citizens or even stay long.

2. How long has the UK been an empire in decline?
France?
Spain?
Rome?
Greece?
Egypt?

Do people still enjoy a good life in these countries?

I think I'll "get out" and go for a walk on this beautiful California day.

5. Your icon is apt.
Why are acting like such a ninny?

When has running away ever solved anything?

Most of us will stay and fight for positive change. That is what real Democrats/liberals do.

9. 1933 would have been a good year to get out of Germany, if you possibly could.
1939 would have been a good year to get on a steamship leaving France.

19. Or the German people could have chosen to fight against the Nazi madness.
They could have not elected him. They could have not closed their eyes to the early acts of savagery.

1939 France: Millions stayed and fought. Many left and went no further then North Africa or the UK. And they automatically started planning for re-taking their homeland. They never planned to stay gone.

Neither example works well for the US in 2009. We're on the road back. Because we have fighting for change.

But neither of these things actually happened.

13. My icon is specifically chosen.
By your definition, "real" Democrats/liberals are sheep. I'd suggest that the real "liberals" knew when to cut and run.

You're cool with that, no problem from me. Enjoy whatever atoll you wash up on.

Sheep? Sheep don't fight. People fight for what they believe in.

Once you start running, you'll never stop.

10. no. I love where I live. It's a vibrant progressive community
it's one of the most beautiful places in country. It's one of the epicenters of building an organic food based economy. It's home to Bread & Puppet as well as many, many artisans and artists.

15. Good for you!
There ARE places in the U.S. where people can enjoy a relatively unrestricted (and untaxed) way of life.

Most of us don't have that luxury.

22. I'm in Massachusetts
I'll stay. And if that finally falls to the Confederacy, I can just go up to Canada where both my parents were born and raised, and where I have aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins. And places to live in 3 provinces. I just don't have the brogue, but that doesn't take long to get back to. Eh?
