Some would say that all who voted for Stupak were "the very worst". This was not true, and neither is it true that ONLY Blue Dogs had a problem with this bill.

I am tempted, at times, to call for the purge of all like you from "my" party. But, I don't. We need each other and EITHER of us would govern better than the GOP.

Peace.

Remember Xicano, don't think with reason always think along party lines.

DU:
Anything Democratic = Good
Anything Republican = Bad

FR:
Anything Republican = Good
Anything Democratic = Bad

How the hell can the people win when a large chunk of the voting public think this way?

Also using their logic: Iraq = Good because Democrats voted for it and continued to vote for the funding of it.

Sadly, I know that all those who think this is reform are going to be crying down the road. They still have learning to do when it comes to Wall Street. Too bad they are allowing themselves to be duped yet again.

You know 951-Riverside its funny, in a sad way, to see these folks agree with people like George Carlin when he talks about the relationship between Dems & Repubs with Wall Street and calls it the Big Club. The big club that all of us are not in, and the big club they hit us over the head with. But then, as you pointed out, they cheer when they get hit over the head with the big club.

Peace,
Xicano

"Sadly, I know that all those who think this is reform are going to be crying down the road."

I'm waiting for the posts that will pop up in 6 months or so from the supporters of this bill whining about how their health insurance premiums have skyrocketed.

But in the meantime, I'm waiting for a "Thank gawd it passed!" thread. You know it's coming.

27. This bill reenforces the status quo
if it didn't it would have allowed the states to find their own solutions to the mess. Instead, we'll all be stuck buying shoddy products from the same crooks who have been robbing us blind for years and still trying to figure out how to come up with the cash for our deductibles so we can actually get care.

35. The Democratic Party you remember, the Party that supported Democratic constituencies, is dead& gone
The party that passed this bill, the New Democratic Party, caters to Republican constituencies. They aren't traitors, they just have very different loyalties and they pass, as you've seen, very different legislation. They are loyal to themselves and you may as well get used to it, because like cancer they are here to stay.
