Maybe We Should All Re-Register As Independents...
and caucus with the Democrats when they deserve it.

Apparently, Independents are the only voters Democrats care about these days.

2. I've been thinking about it for awhile.
It's the one non-party that the corporations can't buy out.

5. READ THIS -- I THINK THEY GET IT --- From today's Obama "Pep talk"

Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, “Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.”

Another freshman Democrat from New Mexico, Representative Martin Heinrich, said the president’s comments overall were reassuring. “If you want to see a recipe for failure,” Mr. Heinrich said, “don’t do the things you talked about in your campaigns and turn your back on your base. All the independent voters in the world don’t matter if the Democrats don’t turn out.”

6. Oh, hell no...
I'm a Democrat until I die. They may not do everything like or even piss me off to the tenth degree, but I will ALWAYS be a proud Democrat!

8. As I Have Been Since I Was A Kid...
Watched every convention\campaign with my Democratic\New Deal parents growing up. When 18 year olds were allowed to vote, I registered as a Democrat in 1974. Voted for Jerry Brown for Gov of CA that same year in my first ever vote. Voted for Carter in 1976 in my first ever Presidential vote. Have voted Democrat ever since.

And yet...

I'm currently thinking about going Independent.

Guess I'm just tired of the required ingestion of bullshit.

9. I already did
I was unaffiliated (and voting democratic) up until Bush. Then I registered Dem. Then I watched what was happening more closely. Then I switched back to independent, because I care more about issues than incumbents.

Schumer's comments regarding the DSCC and Lieberman were instrumental in that decision.
