After another disappointment at the hands of Mr. Rosemary I found myself quietly wishing he would die. Not that I would do anything to him - nothing like that. But I never thought someone could hurt me to the point I just really wished they didn't exist. 32 years of forgiving his selfishness and starting over. Giving up on whatever it was that meant something to me and figuring out a way to live without for the sake of saving the marriage. I can't do it anymore. He took without giving one time too many and it's my own fault for staying here this long and letting it get this bad.

Sadly, I realize I'm going to have to leave my home. I have some chronic serious medical issues an I will lose my medical care benefits.

About a year ago a friend, a neighbor, committed suicide rather than divorce and face a life over 50 yrs old having to start over with so much fewer financial resources. I served on a jury where an older man with a terminal health issue walked into a bank told the teller he had a gun and wanted her money, handed it right back to her and sat down and waited for the police. He knew the prison would take care of him.

In "the greatest richest nation on earth" it's absolutely criminal that our politicians don't even bat an eyelash for another $Billion worth of F something or other planes the Pentagon doesn't even want, but have big political theatre over whether or not "medical care is a right" and "socialism eeek" and "we need more freedom not more government". Spare me. You assholes have used MY government to enforce privilege for the investor class and poverty upon the working class. That's not freedom, it has nothing to do with the US Constitution or concern about the national debt. It has to do with your evil greed.

So my friend is dead, a man is in jail, and I will probably continue to quietly murder my own soul day by day and live with this selfish asshole in order to keep my access to medical care. And I can promise you, there won't be very much in that 1900 pages that will substantially change any of that for any of the millions of Americans who have no access or are living well below potential to have it.

We all have our stories, we all have our pain and struggles. Everyone has to face the shit at some point. Which is WHY we need our community. It's WHY we need unions. It's WHY we need either our family or our "adapted" family. And she has a point. There is a bone in there for people nearly the bottom who don't have incomes high enough to be able to afford health insurance coverage, which I did not know about previously.
