21. I found it in what became one of my favorite books ever.

It's "The Dixie Association" by Donald Hays.

It's about an ex-con who joins a minor league baseball team. There is a fundie pastor and his church who are trying to run the team out of town. There is a colorful cast of characters. Even if you don't like baseball, this is a book about a lot more than that.

It's a hoot.
