I'm sure you know the type. Taking all the stupid facebook polls and making comments. The 'American Jesus' type.

Huge hypocrite. Thrice married, has like 8 kids with 5 different last names and is telling everyone else how to live their life. No healthcare for the 'lazy' because it's big government but wants prayer in schools. I point that out and he deletes the thread completely because he claims it's 'too controversial' for the rest of his facebook friends to have to read.

A 'preacher' who's only ministry is bigotry against Islam because she was once married to a crazy dude who was Muslim.

6. This guy, remember a relative, would tell me my points were right on, I was 'smart'

and he couldn't compete with me if it were a battle of logic. So from that point on he would preface everything with "this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it" or something similar. Then would delete the thread whenever he was made the fool.

Did you check out his wife's page? It's unreal. I watched a video he posted of one of her 'sermons' and before I knew it was his current wife I made a comment about how nice it was for someone to uplift their congregation by bringing down others, because the entire thing was how bad other people and religions are.

My father is a retired minister, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Biblical principles and can throw it back at them, even though I'm an atheist. That bugs the shit out of them. I brought up the Beatitudes to him and he was like, um, 'delete'.

2. I just had to shut the door on some door to door mormans

They wanted to give me their tract that had "the truth" about god. And of course they were the type who wouldn't take no for an answer. Why do they always drag their kids along with them, to make it harder to say no and shut the door? Should have told them to pray for my dog who is dying right now, and ask for some magic underwear for him. OK, that wasn't nice of me to just type, but dammit, take no for an answer.

3. I had another run-in with a FReeper Teabagger...

...earlier this week.

I am an independent contractor/technical consultant to a hand-painting/silk screen operation.

The owner has recently brought this guy on as, I think, a sales rep. He was formerly a client, but since this dumbass ran his company into the ground, like any good Repug, he managed to weasel his way into the sales rep gig with the company I consult.

There was an incident with this jerk last year, where I called him out on his his vociferous, loud-mouthed support of Bu$hler Admin torture policy.

After that, he shut his trap when he was around me for a time, but lately he had started sending me emails with pro-Fox News propaganda (the "Obama has an enemies list, and Fox is at the top of the list" bullcrap), and, while in the office with me, yapping about his love of Michelle Bachmann and the Teabagger astroturf phonies.

I told the owner of the company, in no uncertain terms (130 decibels), to keep this fuckwit away from me, or I was outta there.

Haven't seen the FReeper since...

It is time to stop "reaching across the aisle" unless it is to slap these fuckers down.

5. I dropped an old acquaintance for the same reason.

She was pissed and sent me a message about how politics shouldn't dictate who your friends are. After all, "Obama won't go to your funeral if you died". Really? Duh! She wouldn't either!!

She is a stupid bitch and I never much liked her back when we did hang out. No loss.

Unfortunately, you can't choose your relatives though. They are still there even if you drop them from FB.

So, I PM-ed and him asked was he on the XYZ board? He said yes, and it was a neutral topic; computer software.

Well, I just noticed he unfriended me because he must have seen all the liberal friends I have and everything on our mutal wall; The Nation, Health Care Reform. etc.

I thought, 'Well, that's pretty stupid- you ask to friend me, I don't know you, then you unfriend me for some reason.' I suspect that had to be it due to HIS profile, which I won't go into details here on, to protect the coservative.

Well, good riddance! He wasn't even good looking.

although I saw his profile, I am the kind of person who thinks that I can discuss software or whatever without always getting into a big moral or political thing.

Having said that, if I friended someone who had all this hate speech on their page, I would probably unfriend them, too. FB opens up all sorts of interesting ways to meet and deal with people. With one glance you can, for the most part, learn about a person, as opposed to just meeting them in person and then finding out about them slowly.

Not sure if that is good or bad.

So far, nobody has unfriended me, so they either haven't noticed, or they don't care.

I keep my political and religious views off of FB anyway...
