While the combination surprises me, it is the age factor that got my initial intention.

or suffering from a pyschosis or rage of some sort with no thoughts beyond what they are currently engaged in (that is the majority whether this incident or Columbine or Va Tech or at the UU Church in Tenneesee). If you jump to conclusions before knowing facts as to motive, you set yourself up on the possibility of being wrong. If he did it because of being Religion related, we will find out. However, it is not transferable to others on the basis of religion unless being Christian is tied to being other mass shootings by Christians. Any talk of justification of murder of the innocent as a result of this being on the perpetrator of this crime is bigotry, not reason.

He has almost guaranteed that life will become even more hellish for his family and fellow Iraqis in this country unless Obama is able to nip this in the bud starting now. It's time to roll out one of his powerful speeches. He needs to do a full court press with his upper brass and Gates to settle this thing down starting yesterday.

Officials say a shooting suspect at Fort Hood has been identified as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, who they say was an Army mental health professional.
A law enforcement official said Hasan, believed to be in his late 30s, was killed after opening fire at the base. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.
A defense official speaking on condition of anonymity says Hasan was a mental health professional — an Army psychologist or psychiatrist.
It was not known whether he was treating people at the base...

One lone nut who is alive and in stable condition at the hospital and has been surrounded by military investigators since he was brought in and apparently is still refusing to answer questions. The female civilian officer who shot him isn't dead either and after surgery is in stable condition.
Lots of misinformation in this case, but I suppose that in such a huge event with so many dead and wounded that would happen.
