Gay Marriage and the Supreme Court
I'd like to ask my fellow DUers who are more knowledgeable about law than myself a couple of questions.

Issue: Supreme Court has to rule on Gay Marriage.

-Are there any legal arguments to deny gay marriage?

-What are solid legal arguments in favor of allowing gay marriage?

I'm pretty sure that it'll reach SCOTUS some day, and I'm curious about some possibilities. I know these are two very broad questions, but I didn't know where else to start.

Thanks a bunch! After venting yesterday, I'm ready to arm myself with some knowledge. :fistbump:

1. Look for the same arguments that the current administration is arguing...
That's been their battle-plan so far so I assume that they'll keep doing it.

2. Can't think of any to deny. Best argument in favor is Loving vs. Virginia ruling. If it's
against the 'equal protection' clause and 'due process' clause of the 14th. Amendment to deny blacks and whites to marry, it should be the same violation of the clauses to deny gay marriage.

Civil Rights should never be on a ballot for popular vote. This is WRONG!
