one pundit on msnbc said it was a win by a 'technicality'

although a democrat hadn't held that seat for 140 years

Yet she still managed to win a small percentage of votes, especially absentee votes that were cast while she was still in the race?!

Morans.

4. They still think there is reason for hope.

They want so desperately to launch the doomed "Conservative Party" that they will even risk looking personally ludicrous.

WAAAH!! No fair!!

ignoring the two seats the Dems picked up in the House, and of course Sarah Palin's implosion as a politicial kingmaker. As far as I'm concerned, this election was a break-even for the Dems.

6. Especially when yesterday
they were falling all over themselves telling anyone with a camera how NY-23 was going to be the biggest gamechanger in the history of politics. It was finally going to be clear just what the Republican Party stood for.

Today, it's just a nowhere little district near Canada. I wonder if Glenn Beck and Caribou Barbie even remember how important they used to think this little district was no more than 24 hours ago.

7. Get this
Steele who publicly supported Hoffman who lost says that now the DEMOCRATS are in disarry...how come. Wouldn't you love to pick up two more seats in the house over a governor any day. Unless you are in the state where you get the piece of crap as governor. Like we have in Minnesota.

9. The voters in NoVa are going to be bummed
when they find out what a seriously demented wingnut their new governor really is. It's interesting that nobody's talking about the extent to which this guy ran away from his far-right record and tried to present himself as a "moderate" in what has been historically a pretty red state, recent Dem governors the exception. His election isn't exactly a victory for teabagger ideals, in any case.

Understand that the GOP considers that an irrelevant technicality in any election where they don't receive more votes.

Some are even trying to declare it a victory of conservatism. I have a distant friend who stated how 'great a day it is to be a conservative.' I suppose it is Sun Tzu strategy to make something out of nothing...
