to see if politically active churches lose their exemption. Get them where they live, in their coffers.

18. And what should we do with such lists?
Is a preacher saying "The Bible teaches that Homosexuality is a Sin" a promotion of hate?

24. Is that what they are doing, saying something?
Or are they organizing, misinforming, making TV commercials in a secular society? Do their anti equality ads ever say a word about 'sin' or 'God'? Well do they? Do they make commercials that say what you claim they say? No.

groups, all democrats get together and state by state introduce amendments making marriages for straights illegal. Just to show them that to deny the rights of any group is to endanger the rights of all.

you first MUST get married by state, and then if you want due to your religion can get married by a priest in a church. Neuter the religious right on this issue!

16. fuck the catholic church leaders here in the U.S.

Over a half million dollars donated by the church to fight a civil rights issue? They can go to hell.

Being raised a catholic and having been an altar boy for four years, I have seen nothing but hypocrisy ooze from this entity.

Sin like hell during the week and confess your sins on Saturday, and everything will be alright. That's the real motto of the Catholic church.

17. Contessa Brewer on MSNBC has been doing an excellent job
covering the Maine initiative results. She is definitely sympathetic toward the initiative and has interveiwed on both sides of the issue. She just finished interviewing this bishop who lead the movement? against it on the ballot. First, and aside, I have a problem with a group of men who will consistently not allow women to participate in its priesthood and who take vows of celibacy dictating to anyone anything regarding marriage. Second, I keep thinking that more of us need to push back and let these religious groups understand that people belong to them from choice and not all of us chose to adopt their doctrine or practices. Religion is not innate but learned and we are not a culturally homogeneous nation. We are a nation of many belief systems and practices. THEY are allowed to practice their religion because it is tolerated. Reciprocity needs to be the lingua franca when it comes to these concerns. NO ONE is standing in the way of the adherents of those faiths practicing their beliefs. However, when they begin to stand in the way of others to exercise rights and other beliefs then they need be held to account.

hey if they are going to dabble in politics then they're not a church, they're a PAC and subject to property taxes

and donations made to them would not longer be deductible
