If ME religious folks want to treat homosexuality as a sin, shouldn't it be the same for ME Lobsters

22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Then why aren't we doing the same with their Lobsters?

Isn't Maine known for their Lobsters? I remember when I was a kid and back in the late 70s, early 80s - Idaho was trying to pass a law or something that was extremely harsh when it came to women's right. To fight back we protested their potatoes. Why can't we do the same with Maine's Lobsters. I mean their same bible (and bad interpretation of it) says that gays are bad. So why aren't we treating their Lobsters in the same exact manner?

and sell lobsters voted against marriage equality, I don't want to boycott Maine products. After all, a very large number of voters in Maine voted FOR marriage equality.

I don't want to hurt these people who voted the way I voted on the issue in California. Why punish me for what other people did? Not only did I vote for marriage equality, but I persuaded my husband to do the same. And I babysat for my daughter and her husband so they could go and vote for marriage equality as well.

or didn't bother to correct their friends if they knew they might vote against civil rights.

The point of a protest is to affect everyone. If I owned a Lobster business in Maine and my business was threatened, you better believe I'd be out there fighting even harder to correct the issue

3. If nothing else to make it clear that we don't base civil law

on Biblical teachings - or that of any other philosophical work. Laws are supposed to be designed to protect the people as a whole, while infringing as little as possible on the right of the individual. By that basis, they just broke the whole spirit of "law" in this nation.

If nothing else, use it as a form of ridicule, to point out their ridiculousness.

Noahide Laws - Can Gentiles Eat Lobster?

Question

Are gentiles permitted to eat lobster which is prepared by placing a live lobster in boiling water? Lobsters are considered sheratzim and therefore the law of ever min ha-chai may not apply. However, causing so much pain (tzar baalei chayim) to a living creature may be a violation of the seven Noachide laws.

Answer

Great question!! Lobster is a forbidden species for Jews to eat. While non-Jews are not forbidden to eat lobster, perhaps the way in which it is prepared, at great pain to the lobster, should make them forbidden to followers of the Noachide Laws.

11. When I was growing up eons ago,

people thought that they were direct descendants of Adam and Eve and therefore they thought they should obey everything in the Bible.

I remember how long I puzzled over the story of God ordering a man to chop off the head of his son and how God only intervened as the man was about to kill the son. At some point, I decided that if I tried to go exactly by the Bible the way the majority of the people in my town said they thought everyone should do, I'd go crazy and do some very horrible things, all in the name of God.

12. The point is this - anyone who actually read and understands the bible just a little bit....

knows that the whole purpose of Jesus was to trash all those arcane laws in the Old Testament. Jesus pretty much gave a to the Ten Commandments (which are all common sense) along with 'Love one Another' and 'Treat others how you would want to be treated'.

So the fact that CHRISTIANS would be those scriptuures out from Leviticus and use them as modern day laws just blows my mind. And although there is nothing that forbades me from eating Lobster, I personally think it's a sacrifice that should be made to show solidarity for other people being treated just as shabbily thanks to poor interpretation of the bible.
