1. Right--if Dems had to lose, better the govs than the Reps

The Dems picked up two extra seats, and one was in the district Pailn thought she could save. So yesterday isn't really anything to cry about--hopefully the Dems now understand that they have to hold on to the independents who voted for Obama, and the only way to do is stand up for him!

2. Why are the elections about "the parties" and not the people?

Why isn't the story if the people won by a certain person winning, why is it ALL about the parties?

How is it a referendum for the republicans if they won 2 governor seats, but lost seats in the Congress where national legislation is settled?

So, in commonsensical reasoning, in reality shouldn't the news be saying the republicans lost and the referendum is against their "just say no" agenda?

How does winning 2 local elections but losing on the national scene relate to a victory for the obstructionist?

Every headline in the news I read is about how republicans "Swept" yesterday's election.

Last time I checked - a "sweep" is when one team wins and the other doesn't.

The fact that NY-23 should have been a 'lock' for the republicans is the first flaw in their logic.

5. For 8 years these people didn't give a rat's ass about out of control spending

it was only when the teams changed in the white house did they start caring.

And ironically, these are the same people that would benefit more with Obama's healthcare plan than under the Bush Tax Cuts. Last I checked most of us got a measly $300 here or there. That hardly covers some folks healthcare deductibles.
