Damn President Obama for returning the power to right laws to the legislative where the Constitution intended...not running a unitary executive.

There weren't and still aren't the votes for anything resembling a single payer in either the House or Senate...getting a government public option is tough enough sledding.

Got a problem? Take it up with the 535 elected representatives in both Houses who have the ultimate votes.

Then why the HELL did he even bother making an attempt at health care reform, especially at he start of his first term?

At least if he had left single payer on the table, we could have worked our way down from there and at least had a strong, actually viable, public option instead of the watered down disgrace we are left with. When you start with a compromised position, you immediately set yourself up for failure.

then yes it was his issue to begin with. If he didn't want to tackle one of the greatest long standing national crises i.e health care (a nearly century long crises by the way) by hitting the ground running and pulling out all the stops including keeping single payer on thee table, than he should have kept his trap shut. Now we're probably gonna get stuck with a billion dollar porker boon for the insurance industry while the American people have to wait another 10-20 years for a swing at real reform.

7. I meant it wasn't a priority to him. I don't really think it was. Many folks in the WH were shocked

that he led with this issue. He wasn't my favorite primary candidate because I felt he was weak on heatlh care. I guess I feel he still is. If he were committed to this issue, we would have a solid public option that covers everyone at the very least and he has never even asked for that. And he took single payer off the table immediately nad negotiated what appears to be a sweetheart deal with big pharma.

8. Universal Health Care will not pass the house and the Senate.

That is why we settle for less.

The question remains, what will you do to the Democrats, House, and Senate if they don't give you universal health care? Will you remove them from power with your vote and see Republicans brought back in control? The only way to punish a political party that refuses to do the bidding of citizens is remove them from power.
