Yes, Democrats won two congressional seats tonight - Owens - NY & Garamendi - CA
Edited on Wed Nov-04-09 01:36 AM by GreenTea
Two more new Dems go to Congress!

Bill Owens Democrat won a special congressional election in a heavily Republican district in northern New York by exploiting a battle between moderates and conservatives for control of the GOP.

John Garamendi Democrat will beat Republican David Harmer by 57 percent to 38 percent. Garamendi ran away from four other candidates in a special election to fill the Bay Area's 10th Congressional District seat vacated by Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Walnut Creek.

YES! :bounce:

single payer, a very liberal dude is Garamendi on ALL issues...this man will NOT be swayed or intimidated by any republican...you can take that to the bank.

Again, Owens, I don't know much about.

7. That is good news.
The bad news is that Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to appoint a Lt. Gov., who will probably be a Republican. I always had a small hope that Arnold would leave office early for one reason or another and then Garamendi would be our governor. *sniff* But, Walnut Creek is getting a great guy and it's our loss for the rest of the state.
