| Thanks for nothing to all those people who didn't vote. |
 |
Everybody saw it coming. All those overly enthusistiac, emotional, annoying cheerleaders making all the noise for the first black president, hope and change, a new era blah blah blah blah didn't bother comming out this time.
It's always the same. Republicans show up very consistently year after year like a machine. A big chunk of the dems show up only when there is something "exciting" happening. And the rest of their time they do nothing and then whine about how unfair everything is.
Where are all the people who showed up last year? They are just as fickle as everybody said they are. They don't care enough to drive down the road to the fucking deserted voting centers.
Last year the line was about 100 people deep. This year, 6.

Dems won just about every available seat, and Rep turnout was abysmal.
Rep turnout wasn't terribly impressive in '08, either.

Right now, it ain't looking very good, thanks mostly to the Republican-supporting Blue Dogs and DLCers.

times we have given the power away and what price we have paid for that mistake. I plan to work to replace some of these idiots in the primaries but I will not give the power back to the pugs regardless.

| 9. You think getting GOP will help? |
 |
People don't realize that by getting the GOP in, they give the Blue Digs ammunition, saying "see see, the country has gone back to it's sense, it is going right!" If you organized back in 2008, you should be even more organized now, because here is the real fight. It disgusts me when people think all Obama had to do was sign a bunch of papers to undo 30 years of damage, especially since, sad to say, the so called "independent" voters are the ones that put us over the top, but they are still skittish about real leftist solutions.

| 7. We need to see this as a challenge then. |
 |
We need to see this as an opportunity to better organized. Where there is no organization present, we need to build some. We need to mobilize and work to get officials elected, or even work to get ourselves elected. One thing is for sure. Complacency will not do anything constructive. Maybe we see this as an opportunity to start working towards 2010.

| 14. I'm not really hopeful. I don't think it gets any better than 2008. |

I am not at all impressed with democrats and their lack of maturity when it comes to tactics and team play.
It is an incredibly childish attitude to only show up when there is a handsome candidate blowing sunshine up your skirt. But it seems to be a prevalent attitude among democrats.
Maybe the democratic voters get exactly as much loyalty back from their candidates, as they give. That does make a lot of sense.

Well, the result was the republican won in a landslide. And people are going to point to that and say it is proof that the country is moving to the right.

 |
Everyone I have ever known who is involved in emergency services of any form have all voted absentee always, because they are on call, always. Why don't you do that? That way you won't have to whine about the inconvenience of being a citizen. Most adults don't need to get a tingle up the leg to manage to cast a vote. This is politics, not a talent show.

The hard part is to stick around and ensure the people you voted in office do the jobs they were hired to do. But no, the football game is over. The pom poms are tucked away and they're all busily downloading the new iPod apps. I see shiny things haven't lost their affect. They'll show up again in 2012 to re-elect President Change.

Deeds lost because he was a S H I T T Y candidate. S-H-I-T-T-Y. Said he would opt out of any health care. And if that's not enough, he just plain ran a SHITTY campaign. He was SHITTY from top to bottom. If you want to chastise people for not voting, put up good candidates.
In New Jersey, Corzine, it turns out, was a better Senator than Governor. You may not like that, but it is true. Maybe sitting home is a good way to send a message. Plus, in New Jersey, being so close to NYC and all, there was the Cloud Of Goldman Sachs hanging over his head, following him like Pig Pen's dust cloud.
Would you chide people in Youngstown for staying home for a Traficant election? Or New Orleanians for a William Jefferson election?
Shitty candidates DESERVE to lose. And shame on the party apparatchiks that run them.
