| 1. It's just coming up on 6pm there... |
 |
Isn't there a chance for a surge of voters once people get home from work?

| 2. When Foster beat Hastert in the special election, |
 |
it was big news. That election was widely publicized and followed. I had friends and family calling me from all over the country.
The election had a shockingly low turnout. Many off-year or special elections are like that. Democrats need to capitalize on this, and get everyone to the polls.

We need elections EVERY YEAR..
ODD years are for state & local
EVEN years are for congress/senate/president
It would make ALL elections important..not just presidential years.
and it would make them all easier too.
In even years, a ballot could be a 5 x 7 card..with never more than THREE races
and they could be standardized nationally, with the same layout in all states
house..every 2 years senate..2 year cycles, but not every 2 years president..every 4 years
Counting would be a snap
odd year elections would be less vulnerable to out of staters' mischief too

| 4. I went to vote after the polls had been open for over 11 hours. I was #168. |
 |
I waited in line before the polls opened for the Presidential election, and I was something like #92 that morning. My election was primarily judges and school board stuff.
