I am dense. Really. I saw a show this morning talking about "the first anniversary of Obama's term"?

Now, did I miss something? I thought the inauguration was in January?? Seriously. November 2 to January 21 is closer to a quarter? Do companies base their yearlies on 75% of the annual profit? Why are we trying to judge a year with only ~9 months in the can?
