Report: Bayh's Wife Made Millions As Board Member For Health Insurer

Yesterday, Sen. Evan Bayh joined his colleague Joe Lieberman in suggesting that he may oppose health-care reform, citing concerns about the deficit. Bayh has long been one of the more conservative members of the Democratic caucus. But is his stance also affected by the fact that his wife has reportedly earned at least $2 million over the last six years as a member of the board of a major health insurer?

Susan Bayh's affiliation with Indianapolis-based WellPoint isn't news. But a new report on TheStreet digs into the details. It also finds that last year, Susan Bayh sat on four other corporate boards, in addition to WellPoint's. She received over $656,0000 in cash and stock for all her board work, around half of which came from WellPoint.

3. Yeah and I'm reminded that Sen Bayh
was in the top three for Obama's veep. Obama's always been a very small D. If he continues I fear that D will be almost impossible to see anymore.

call other countries corrupt. There's practically no winning for the majority of us in this place, the damn system is stacked against you. It breeds corruption and self-serving votes and interests.

5. Evan Bayh IS up for re-election in 2010.
I WILL be supporting whoever is the more progressive challenger in his Indiana Primary.

I would like to see this become a Nationally Co-Ordinated effort by The Left to target Evan Bayh.

I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

10. Evidently Evan Bayh was a contender for Obama's VP. I'd like to see him
out of office completely. His family has millions in insurance stock, and they made another fortune when Bayh announced he would fillibuster and insurance stocks went way up...

11. Dodd's wife has similar connections
Granted, he isn't threatening a filibuster. But he definitely has a conflict of interest in being one of the responsible parties in negotiating the Senate bill.
