Afghanistan
There is a WAR going on there, folks.

My neighbor's son is going there:

I'm having a really hard time this time with my son XXXXXXXXXX leaving going to Afghanistan. He has been in the Army since 1999. He has already been to Iraq 3 times. He missed the first years of both of his children's life. I'm asking if everyone in the neighborhood could please put a yellow ribbon on there door, mailbox or a tree or anywhere just to remind everybody that there are still a lot of our soldiers over there that I think people have forgotten about. Just because the war isn't so new, and talk of it has died down , until you have someone personal close to you in your family or your circle of friends it seems like no one thinks about it anymore. So since my son is leaving Saturday night I would like for our neighborhood to get back involved and show our pride and support for our US Military and there families.

I'm going to put a PEACE SIGN on my mailbox not a yellow ribbon.

Because dammit I want Obama to end this war in Afghanistan. Oh, and the one in Iraq, too.

Bring the troops home.

Rebuild America.

Please.

2. Thanks for that
Doesn't seem to matter here.

Is this a Pro-War site now?

3. The propaganda has been so strong for so long - they've been blinded
to their own humanity by the constant glaring lights of the machine. It will get better. There must be a way to overcome the great Wurlitzer. And there are plenty of good folks who would also like to see it go away.

I hope, and believe, that your neighbors son will come home sooner than expected and in one piece - apparently they're paying people not to become insurgents/Taliban fighters. They do it for money, so we're going to pay some to ont do it, makes sense to me. At least it's kind of in the right direction.

Read about it here tonight

A big yellow peace sign or peace flag sounds like a great idea. :)
