I hate to think what kind of VP Lieberman would have made. Hell, he could even have been president.

I've got mixed feelings about the whole 2000 election now. Hell, I think there's a good chance joe threw the thing, he sure didn't support a recount as I remember. Then again, the will of the people was thwarted, and remembering the ruin of the bush years makes me come to my senses. President Gore could always have asked for Lieberman's resignation a year in anyway. But it is something to think that this guy who practically frenched bush in that famous photo, and who pimped the war like a faux news puppet, and who abandoned his party when it's voters told him they wanted someone else, was almost the Democratic Vice President of the US. I really really hope the people of CT send him packing.

3. Lieberman's strategy
I'm not worried about this, at least not yet. It's too early and too many things can happen.

4. If 9/11 had happened on their watch, neither would have been in politics after 2004.
The GOP would have destroyed them. Bush (maybe Jeb) would have been and still be President.

Which might be an another argument against Gore winning in 2000, BUT...

I believe in my heart that Al would have stopped 9/11 because of a pesky habit of paying attention.

That being said, I don't believe that Lieberman would have won the nomination in 2008. And if he did, he would have lost in 2008...

To a Bush.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

6. The neocons had all bases covered in 2000
Lieberman would have assumed the same roll Cheney had in trying to accomplish the goals of the PNAC.

7. I never understood why Gore chose him as a running mate.
He is either a chameleon, or is skitzo IMHO.

No class or honor.
