1. Maybe. I suspect they are going to determine this shooter was schizophrenic.
From reading his plays and hearing about how he reacted to daily events and to people. He reminds me dramatically of someone close to me. I don't think this man's brain worked.

2. Must we invoke the T-word at every turn?
What are we going to do, have Bush color-code university "terruh" threats from now on?

And if we're going to discuss domestic terrorism, let's start with violent street gangs, shall we? They terrorize and kill people every day...it's just that the media doesn't care about those victims. After all, they're just poor folks, so they don't count.

Seriously, let's drop the T-word from the discussion and call this for what it is: Utter incompetence. This psycho punk wrote as if he were mentally retarded, was reported by several people as being a potential threat...but the university and the police did nothing.

The parents need to file so many lawsuits, that other universities and schools will snap into action if somebody brings so much as a burp gun on campus. Then maybe there won't be another disaster of this magnitude in the future.

3. Hell, let's call it genocide!
As long as we're redefining words, why not?

4. Nonsense...

Terrorism has to have the goal of effecting changes in the political situation by intimidating those in a position of power into acceding to your demands through fear. Unless we find some political manifesto from this guy, none of that applies. By your standards (having "grievances"), any crime of passion, say, against an unfaithful partner automatically gets a promotion to "domestic terrorism." :eyes: The fact is, few premeditated murderers don't have "grievances" against those they decide to kill.
