2. I think Chris Kofinas is absolutely right about the Republican party.

I don't cheer out loud at my tv much any more. But this was one of those moments when I howled in agreement. There is a civil war within the Republican party where they are trying to discover just how conservative they should be. And he would not be surprised if there were to be a splinter in the party. WOO HOO!

This could be rather important if a large enough fraction of the Republicans feel the need to join a new party. Although that probably doesn't amount to more than just the "mother's basement with a keyboard" group. But it could swing things to our advantage for decades. Or am I just dreaming?
