Japan has a nuke plant event

http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index.php?smp=&lang=eng

Kansai Electric Power Co plans to shut the 1,175-megawatt No.2 reactor at its Ohi nuclear plant in western Japan later this week for an unplanned inspection to examine a possible radiation leak. Japan's second-largest utility said in a statement on Monday that it had found higher levels of gas in the unit, but that it had no impact on the outside environment. A company spokesman said the length of the shutdown had yet to be determined and that the utility had enough reserve power capacity to offset the shutdown.

4. Excellent.
Once again the smallest hint of a possible problem resulted in immediate action and zero consequences. One wishes the hundreds of thousands of fossil plants all over the globe operated in such a clean, efficient, and safe manner.

5. 1,175 megawatt?!?!?!?
Isn't that awfully close to 1.21 gigawatts? Just an eensy weensy bit more power and you've got enough to power a flux capacitor! I've got the DeLorean. Let's make this happen, people.

6. Maybe that is why the shut it down. Can't have reactors going back in time.

9. Ummm, what? Your sentence makes no sense given what you're responding to.
And it's also a sentence fragment considering you're not answering a question.

As much as I love that movie, that particular one escaped me.

14. I Understand They Have A Call In To SNL's Garrett Morris To Come Clean It Up...Bring Bucket!
(Homage to A Favorite SNL Skit where Garrett Morris is in drag as a cleaning lady and is asked to take her mop and pail into the damaged Three Mile Island reactor containment unit and 'clean it up' --as if it were just a water spill).

Two Mile Player #1: < pantomimes along > "I'm energy! Everybody wants me!"

Two Mile Player #2: < pantonmimes along as well > "I'm a short-sighted consumer! I'm against nuclear energy! But I still want my stereo, and my electric guitar!"
