CNN The MisTrusted Name In News
Busted time and time again for their misinformation. I trust the funny papers about as much as I trust CNN or FOX. The funny papers has more credibility. We NEED to resurrect the Fairness Doctrine, ASAP. The Flockers have been led astray too far and for too long by the WOLF in reporter's clothing.

1. I can salute that.
I didn't realize how bad CNN was until I saw that jackass on that early morning show the day Obama's Nobel Peace Prize was announced. Under the Fairness Doctrine we got Walter Cronkite. Without it we get Glen Beck.

2. They were cheerleaders for an unnecessary war
They sat back time and again as anybody who dared to disagree with the Bush adminstration wer proclaimed traitors.

Then, right when the left figures out they have to play the game the same way the fascists do, they start whining and moaning about the "tone of our politics" and have an asshole start handing out "wingnut of the week" awards.

4. Exactly right about the invasion of Iraq...
CNN was one of the neocon's biggest sales reps.

9. Chicken Noodle Nuze Is A Joke...
I used to watch CNN 24/7 in the days of Bernie Shaw, Christine Armanpour and Peter Arnett...a far cry from the clowntown it is today.

If there's a great way to demonstrate how dumbed down this network as become it's this:

As part of the Time corporate empire it's expected to produce viewers by titilating and sensationalizing. News isn't their product, it's infotainment. It's manufacturing controversies and making its own stars to manipulate viewers and stories to gain ratings and revenues. And since its sole reason to exist is to generate profits, the product is tailored to those who pay the freight...thus stories can and are influenced by those who buy commercials. More important, CNN has become a creature of a beltway media that views it's own self importance above the people it serves. Egos and inside games trump all...it's turned the network into a total joke. I rarely watch it now...their newsreaders and reporters represent how lazy the corporate media has become.

The matter isn't fairness...it's access. Deregulation put the things we see and hear in the hands of a few fat cat (and conservative) owners who see their operations as profit centers not a public service.

11. Same thing with the failing newspapers...
People get tired of liars lying to them. I wish the cable companies would let subscribers elect what they do or don't want to pay for when they sign up. I'll bet outfits like FOX and CNN would soon join the newspapers in the great gnashing of teeth, about the internet putting them out of business.

12. That's Called "Ala-Carte"
There are several proposals for what you're suggesting at the FCC. Needless to say, the cable companies aren't too hot on the idea. Hell, I could cut my bill down to nothing if I eliminated all faux channels, infomercial channels, religious channels and mindless sports.

You are correct about newspapers as well...and a big reason they're in their death throes. What drives them all crazy is they've lost control of the flow of information. The more they try to stomp out or dismiss the internet, the bigger the internet grows.

:hi:

13. I don't watch either one of those two, for sanity's sake.
I hardly watch the evening news on the "Major Networks" anymore either. Watching CNN or FOX rates right up there with cleaning up dog puke with me.
