Freepers going berserk over health care reformUpdated at 4:39 PM
Apparently, the idea that all Americans should have access to health care is deeply un-American (see: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2363577/posts ). Some comments:

I think people are way behind. I don’t think they plan on ever leaving office, because we will be under dictatorship.

How often are we seeing news from other countries? Hardly any. How about what’s happening in the rest of the states next to you? Or across the country?

People are starved for news because we are not getting it. we get the same fluff stories over and over and over, every day...

As Bugs Bunny once said, “Of course you know...this means war!”

by woofer2425

---------------

Do we really understand the tipping point to start the American Revolution against England? What were those circumstances and how similar are they likely to be in the near future?
People wrongly assume that we live in a democracy, but we live in a representative democracy. Once we elect our representative, they are free to destroy us, punishable only by being thrown out of office after the fact.

They do not need to listen to us if they think their goals are more important than what the people want.

What would have to occur before the public became violent, on either side? What right will be the last straw when taken away.

Who will be the leaders to lead from the front?

by LachlanMinnesota

----------------

If HR 3200 or any of its operative parts are passed in disregard of the US publics denial of it, one can easily predict what happens next. S. 31 of HR 3200 is particularly egregious, as it vilates IRS privacy law, and allows for a medical fee scale based on income, not on services rendered, and opens the door for the IRS information to be used in the collection of unpaid medical bills ( redistribution of wealth through medical bills)
There will be the increased radicalization of Obama's opposition, with violence and death ensuing, which is what happens when the will of the people is disregarded by elected representatives.

People will refuse to obey the law.Or have anything to do with it.

THe violence will reach a crescendo around the elections of 2010.

And the style and manner that Obama exhibited in Kenya, 2006/2007, which resulted in inter-tribal genocide, will seize America by its throat.

We do not have a government running our nation. We have an Obama Junta. We should not lose sight of that fact.

by Candor7

-----------------

With every day I feel we get closer to the end of these United States. Even though I live in Texas, it is in the Left corner, and I mean left. If texas goes it alone, there is nothing to stop the leftist creeps here. I think we will be at their mercy. It is not a great thing to contemplate. The thugs from Juarez would swarm to take over here. I do not have enough firepower for that! I don’t know what to think?

by Empireoftheatom48

---------------------

Got Czars?
All the evidence points to the fact that we are already living under a dictatorship. The politicians are not staking their careers on some hope that we will be under a dictatorship in the future, they realize that we are already there, and that is the reason for their unbridled hutzpah. After all, what is an elected government that denies the people what they want and simply tells them what will be? It is Russia, it is Venezuela, it is Mexico, it is Iran, it is.... America. "Freedom" in our times is an illusion.

Our country is like a bear who is starving to death but isn't feeling it yet due to an abundance of past eating and stored fat. We are living off that 'stored fat'. We are sailing on the momentum of our previous wealth and freedoms but it cannot last. We have, I believe, already been dealt the death blow of dictatorship by the godless, gutless, self-serving DC scum.

by jiminycricket000

---------------------

I'M afraid they are NOT worried about their careers because they also have another nuclear option to enact just before the election.

I have never seen them to so disregard what the public reaction will be to what they do. It worries me that they know they will continue in power - a nice little national emergency that required Martial Law would shut down any election...

WE can't get our heads around such a scenario, but we've seen enough by now to WAKE UP to who and what we are dealing with.

Think they wouldn't do it? It's been done countless times by just such tyrants down through history. We'd better not put all our eggs in the Nov 2010 basket. It may be too late by then.

We must fight NOW - each and every day.

SILENT NO MORE

Are being foiled by your precious HCR?

Are we getting even with 'em now?

Are we really fighting the power?

Are we really?

Are we really going to be able to pass a bunch of new rules that will keep them all, finally, in line?

Or are we just going to drive them deeper underground, under thousands of pages of brand new rules, coupled with brand new, infallible taxes here and fees there that will finally show 'em!

Really?

30. They seems to know exactly which buttons to push - it's uncanny
But then again, a significant portion of people were already pre-conditioned by years of consumer marketing and advertising.

They'll basically believe anything you tell them if it "sounds right" or conforms to their deepest fears and irrational theories.

It the same as advertising:
1. Present a problem (real or imagined)
2. State the reason why the problem is undesirable with examples (also real or imagined)
3. Suggest an easy solution (which is actually a solution to no problem at all)
4. Ask for payment.

The parallels are there.

That the majority of the people agree with their neanderthal, illiberal meaness, and that being so, the people's will is being thwarted.

I guess they will never understand that their crabbed and angry vision is actually the fringe, and not taken seriously either by the huge nonpolitical-junkie masses, the few sensible people left in the rightwing camp, or anyone left of center.

They've beaten the walls of their own echo chamber for so long that they've gone deaf.

23. They sound like they are talking about some other country, in some other place, at some other time.
All their talk about "living under a dictatorship" and the "end of the USA" is simply baffling to me. Do we have any idea what on God's green earth they are talking about? I don't see any signs of any of the things that have them absolutely petrified with fear. How does having a "green energy czar" working in the government infringe on their liberties? Why is health care for all Americans so frightening to them?

You know, I've been reading and posting on DU for five years or more now, and if there is one thread that has run through the commentary here about right-wingers for the entire time (down to this very post), it is the question "What is wrong with these people?" It's been asked thousands of times, yet I still don't feel that I know the answer. Bachmann, Beck, Limbaugh, Palin, Hannity. They seem crazy and psychotic to me, yet millions hang on their every word (and tear).

So, what is wrong with these people?

10. They know there is something wrong with the country.
We know there is something wrong too.

The problem with them is they have been watching Fox News, listening to Rush and HeadWreck. They have been conned. They don't understand that the reason our country is in decline is due to economic policies, tax policies, trade policies that were set in motion decades ago by Ronald Reagan.

Now our manufacturing jobs are vanishing, and the wealthiest 5% of Americans are playing games with what's left of our money. And big corporations heve the rest of us over a barrel.

14. We have ALL been conned
and to continue to play into the hands of the powers that be, by turning over the entire healthcare system to them (insurance companies and control freaks and brownshirt vaccine brigades armed to the teeth with purell) . . .well, that plays right into the power structures' designs.

I'm sure they are scared to death, because the mainline around here is "Let's put it all together into one great big happy government bureau. It will be like a really cool monopoly because everybody will have the same care, because we trust the pharmaceutical companies and the good people on the panels to always do the right thing, because they, you know, have to, because it all so good and universal, and you know, GROOVY and inclusive. And, oh yeah! Free abortions all around to throw a bone to the eugenics crowd! It's so goood and right to force people to do things! We just love it and want EVERYONE to feel that LOOOVE!"

Meanwhile, they just go ahead and have their way with us. Locked in profits for Big Pharma already done through part C and flu scams, now to bail out the insurance companies and toss in whatever control-freak amendments to get us all sliced, diced, chipped, sterilized and drugged up. We'll save tons when we don't have to pay all those high-priced doctors we'll scare off.

It's so wonderful!

Or, we could stick with the same monopolies/collusions that we have now.

So what was the choice again? Oh yeah, the latest issue is to what degree we want to punish people who would rather opt out, like that makes any sense to anyone but dictators and insurance executives.

Whatever. I have a fourth and fifth amendment ache in my genome, at the moment. And I'm pretty certain to start bleeding out of my Article 1 Section 8. I can't seem to fit any health care into it.

16.  Citizen, Put Up your Hands....!
The issue is that the republican run media wants to spin an illusion for the masses: as with all republican plans: it fails in the end.

The United States are not on the brink of revolution: if that were to happen, the republicans would loose any chance of political survival for at least 50 years.
It was what later became the republican party that was the driving force to install a King in America from the start.
That is behind the "ancient" battle between the democrats and republicans: the democrats know what the republicans have been up to and rally against it: the pre-republican party tried unsuccessfully to install Washington as a King: then later tried to install Grant as a termless president.
Bush used terror Alerts to attempt to delay or end Elections indefinitely.

You all know Bush removed the federal prosecutors investigating the election corruption : you all know the Republicans attempted to convince democrats and others that only republicans vote on the federal election day and all others vote the day after.

you all know that republican attempt to convince people that to register to vote they must register as republican.

get with it. they are the cause for your concern: they need to be stopped.

As long as there is ignorance in America, there will be a support-base for these animals.

The issue is that media spins illusions for the the masses.

As with all these plans, they tend to succeed, until it's too late.

The United States are not on the brink of revolution: if that were to happen, the country would lose any chance of political survival.

It was what later became the two party farce that was the driving force to install King after King in America from the start.

That is behind the ancient battle between democrats and republicans: a generally well-orchestrated diversionary war between equally impotent factions, installing figurehead after figurehead.

Terror is used for political gains. Democracy is so broken that elections don't even work anymore to effect change, and besides, we can't even count the votes properly.

Get with it. There are causes here that are being ignored that deserve your concern.

As long as there is ignorance of these things in America, there will always be a support-base for the real animals, loyal to no party or nation.

Or constitution.
