1. How long does Dylan have? I can't imagine CNMSNBC letting him continue this.
He is a real scrapper.

10. Goggle Him... I Did Yesterday & It Seems They Have Given Him Free Reign...
ar least that's what they told him when they hired him! So he quit CNBC and took this new job!! If THEY pull him they are just plain STUPID!!!

Seems MSNBC has been giving many of "their hosts" more lee-way than before! Just think Olberman & Maddow! But Ratigan is a man on FIRE! Fed up with what he calls Corporate COMMUNISTS! And he called them that LAST WEEK, several times!!

We need to get the word out about him... too many haven't tuned in yet!!

20. They'll let him go as soon as...
...they let go of Keith, Rachel, Ed, David, Lawrence... Heck, even Tweety can be scrappy, as he was last night. It looks to me like they're not only going to not hinder him, I think they're actually building up their line up with more and more like him. The real question should be: How long does Morning Joke have? He's rapidly becoming the exception on that network.

24. He CAN Go For All I Care... No MORE Scarborough Will Be JUST Fine With Me!!!
But then I don't watch him anyway!! Got have SOME C-Span!

I think Ratigan stays because MSNBC MUST be seeing good numbers from the likes of the people you mentioned or they would have been GONE by now!!

When I first saw Dylan on Big Ed's show, before Dylan got his own show...
I thought he was an idiot. He was arguing against a public option, saying the gov't isn't there to provide services (guess he just forgot about the fire departments, police departments, post office, libraries, roads, etc... anyway).

So but now, after reading about him going after these issues so often on DU... I wonder what was up that day he was on Ed's show. He seems to have a pretty good grasp of these other issues... I think I'll check out his show. Thanks to everyone for sharing these tidbits. :)

7. I saw him on Ed that day as well.
He was tossing right wing talking points like they were salad, I said to myself "well that is one show on MSNBC I will never watch". Then I started seeing some of the clips posted here and started watching him, either he has changed his mind since Ed's show or maybe just got better educated on the issues. Now I watch him every morning.

and refuse to answer one question directly. Dylan destroyed that guy.

5. Ratigan had this guy cornered
AHIP Guy: repealing the anti-trust exemption won't have an impact on cost.

Ratigan: So if it has no impact, then you must not have a problem with a repeal, right?

AHIP Guy: That's not the issue...that's not the issue...

Ratigan: But it is - answer the question. Are you ok with a repeal?

And so on and so on.

I don't think AHIP guy will be back on Morning Meeting anytime soon.

12. Ratigan's final remark to him: When you come back try answering the questions.
What a smackdown.

How many people see this show at this time of day? Can't be more than 100K, if that many.

6. Dylan roasted that AHIP guy! AHIP wouldn't answer his question about
Edited on Thu Oct-15-09 09:34 AM by Subdivisions
insurance company exemption from anti-competitive practices. The AHIP guy said none of that matters to the current situation regarding healthcare. "So then you don't have a problem with suspending the exemption for insurance companies?" The AHIP guy batted this question away several times and Dylan basically told him to beat it.

8. I Just Came In Here To Make The Very SAME Comment!! This Guy Along
with Alan Grayson are my TWO new heroes!! Ratigan is so "in your face, answer the question" type of guy and I LOVE IT!

Been watching him for almost two months now and he seems to be getting better day by day! Used to work for Blomberg and knows his stuff IMO and takes NO GUFF! He kept asking and asking the guy to ANSWER the question and the guy, didn't get his name because my dog "up-chucked" and I was cleaning up. Came back into the room and saw him going after the guy when he told him to come back WHEN he wanted to answer the question!!

He KNOWS finance because he covered it for years, what a GREAT asset to MSNBC!! We NEED to get more people aware of him... he's just unreal, in a GOOD way!!!

Talk about ripping A-holes... he has the cohones to do it!! And YES, I'm just ranting right along!

17. Yes. He tried to do the same thing to Barney.
Answer the question..
The difference was that Barney told him to stop interrupting and he would answer the FIVE (not one) question Ratigan asked. Dylan pretty much backed down and let Frank talk after that. The thing is, if we want Ratigan to be tough, we can't pick and choose who we want him to grill. Frank was asked tough questions, but he held his own and Ratigan seemed satisfied.
By the way, I believe the interview was cut off because they ran out of time. That's the only bit that bothered me.

22. But That's OKAY... If He Feels You're Working WITH Him & Answering Questions
he won't be so dismissive. What he wants people to do is ANSWER his questions, don't DANCE around the issues!! I think he can respect that, and THAT'S GOOD!

He does like Spitzer, has him on the show a lot1

27. When someone tries to recap the situation, Dylan loses his patience. He tells
them yeah, yeah, we already know all of that and we don't have time to go over it again; just answer my question!

I love that shit!

And I agree that we can't be picky about whose feet he holds to the fire. He has always said he isn't about Democrat or republican't. In fact, he just finished his show this morning by absolutely wrecking Charlie Rangell. It might be irritating coming from Mourning Joe but from Ratigan, for me at least, no so much.

15. Did you see him on the "Toady Show" this morning?
He was on with Michael Moore, and they pretty much concurred with each other. I think Mutt Lauer's (Druggie Rush's golf buddy) head was going to explode over that. I'm sure they will have the clip on the show's web site some time today. Good stuff!

25. Just THIS AM He Called Out Geithner (Goldman Sachs) * A Few Minutes
ago, took on BOTH Rangle & Pelosi, showing a clip of Pelosi saying she was going to run the MOST open and ethical House ever!

I DON'T care if they're Democrats or not... calling them out for any screw-ups they make is RESPONSIBLE as far as I'm concerned!! Our Representatives AND Senators have gotten away with WAAAAAAAAAY too much for WAAAAAAAAAAAY too long! And there's so much more we don't EVEN know!!

I'm with Radical Ratigan. I would change party affiliation if my state allowed us to vote in primaries, but you have to designate here. I suppose I would be a Liberal Socialist type! Or maybe NPA with leftist leanings! But now, I'm listed as a Democrat and probably one of those that too many here think are ACTUALLY the problem!

I have NO PROBLEM if people call me out for my views, I try to listen to others and if others don't want to listen to me... well so be it!!

Sticks & Stones!!

28. I seen it and it was fall down funny
that is if it wasn't so serious the questions being asked that the putz couldn't or wouldn't answer. I'm liking Dylan Ratigan real well. He's fitting in with the other m$nbc heavies, like KO, Maddow, Shultz, Shuster, and the most beautiful person of 'em all, Tamron Hall, what a sweatheart she is, I love listening to her talk and hearing what she says. A beautiful person through and through she is. sorry bout getting sidetracked there :-)
