That's the message I heard behind the Peace Prize announcement. Our neighbors in the community of nations just might be on the verge of believing that we can be trusted again, that we won't bully them into doing things they don't want to do, that we'll be there to lend a hand should the need arise, that we'll listen more often than we lecture. In a way they're partnering with those of us who worked so hard for so long to bring about the change that would allow us to reclaim our 'better angels', encouraging us to the patient plodding work that is required. As we clear away the debris of the last several years we can do so knowing that our neighbors are once again standing with us - because they want to. I think they've missed us.
