Rush Limbaugh and St. Louis Blues Owner team up in Bid to Buy the St. Louis Rams
I cant imagine what I would do if this came true and I was a Rams fan. Granted a lot of owners are RWers, but they arent Rush.

ST. LOUIS -- Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he is teaming up with St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts in a bid to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

Limbaugh declined to discuss details. He cited a confidentiality agreement with Goldman Sachs, the investment firm hired by the family of former Rams owner Georgia Frontiere to review assets of her estate. Frontiere died in January 2008.

Limbaugh also declined to discuss other partners that might be involved in the bid, but said he and Checketts would operate the team.

Forbes magazine has estimated the Rams franchise has a value of $929 million.

4. I believe I saw on tv recently that St. Louis Rams
is the highest Democratic donor of all football teams. San Diego was highest donor to R's.

5. You got to wonder what the players think about having the team owned by Rush...

given some of his more racially charged statements.

I have a feeling that despite what may be said in a public setting that Rush's ownership stake ( if he's part of the winning bid) is going to be like that of Jennifer Lopez vis a vis the Dolphins.

IOW, a silent partner who will be welcome to the owner's booth and team events but who won't be allowed within a mile of making an operations decision that actually matters.
