Florida woman attacked by 'gang' of raccoons
Edited on Tue Oct-06-09 10:17 AM by Ian David
LAKELAND, Fla. - A woman is recovering from serious injuries in the hospital after sheriff’s investigators say she was “gang attacked” by five raccoons over the weekend.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says 74-year-old Gretchen Whitted was trying to shoo the animals away from her front door Saturday when they suddenly attacked.

“When she fell down, they enveloped her,” said Sheriff Judd in a news conference called Sunday to warn the public of the aggressive raccoons.

“She’s literally bitten and scratched from face and the chest all the way down through the legs.”

But once we had a raccoon in the yard and he was hanging outside right next to the door.

We scared the shit out of each other.

I opened the door, and he was hanging there, less than two feet from my head, hissing at me.

3. The GOP cut after-school programs for raccoons.
That's why they're joining gangs now.

4. I had one living in my garage
one winter. We had an understanding. I opened the door at night until I saw it was in then I closed it. I opened the door in the morning and it left. I could walk right by it and it left me alone as long as I did not stop and mess with it. The racoons here at the farm are another story entirely.
