The Broad Report
I posted this link over at the Education forum, but I feel it is too important for people to miss.

The Broad Report

Eli Broad, as you all may know, is a billionaire and one of the leading proponents in the movement to privatize public education by attempting to force business models on public school districts. One way he is doing this is by having created a "superintendent academy" to "train" urban school district superintendents as if they are MBAs.

It's a sickening trend, but it goes unabated, let alone largely unreported.

2. Readers should note the sidebar on the left,
detailing the "successes" of some of the Eli Broad Academy graduates.

This is the future of public education, I am afraid.

4. Your school district may be okay, but it is increasingly
apparently ALL school districts are going to be run like businesses and actually run more on a military model than even a business model.

When I was canned, I thought I was alone, but I am finding out this wholesale firing of teachers is going on all around the country for bottom line reasons. Meanwhile, the people at the top are raking in the bucks and the perks, all courtesy of the taxpayers.
