Expect Dead in the UK: Texas televangelist Benny Hinn refused entry to Britain

Benny "The Hair" Hinn

An American Christian preacher has been turned away from Britain, leaving thousands of people stranded at an evangelical rally in London this weekend.

Benny Hinn, from Texas, who draws large crowds to his Pentecostal revival rallies, was turned back at Stansted airport under new rules on visiting ministers of religion.

Many thousands of Pentecostal Christians travelled from across Britain and Europe and booked long weekend breaks in the capital’s hotels for his mission at the ExCeL exhibition centre in Docklands, East London, which had been due to begin on Thursday night.

They were left disappointed after Border Agency officials turned him back when he landed with his private jet because he had failed to obtain a “letter of sponsorship” from a church.

Now if we can just refuse to let him back in the US.

1. Benny Hinn is my favorite awful fake preacher. Seriously, when he's knocking people down and blowing
on them and riling them up, I can't look away. Until I get angry, that is.

2. My late fundie grandmother despised that man.
She could see what a pathetic and evil fraud he was. He was terrifying the shit out of small children on his platform! Now THAT'S Christlike! "Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for I will scare the fucking shit out of them and make people faint and utter gibberish while I line my pockets with the cash of chumps" ....uh, no, I don't think it's supposed to go like that. Too bad for Benny. I'm increasingly agnostic these days but if there's actually a Hell I'm damn sure Benny's going to be on Satan's fucking rotisserie.

9. Absolutely...he's the worst kind of fraud there is -- preying on people's hopes, fears, desires, and
faith. I don't want to make it sound like I like him. It just amazes me that anyone falls for it.

35. amen....back in the day that was our very first 'appointmen TV'

''in the name of Jeeesusss Christ of Nazareth......HEEYULLLLAH, HEEEYULLAH....HEEEEYYYYULLLLLL!!!!''

I miss that. Jim and Tammy came on either right before, or right after, and it was the time she was staying at home a lot, and being interviewed in her robe, with her makeup running all over her face.

I feel kinda bad for her now, after what she went through, cause she seemed more real at the end.

RIP, Tammy

10. Why go to this website:
This Is Your Day!
http://www.bennyhinn.org/television/tiyd.cfm

You can find a teevee station in your area or watch older shows on your computer. Praise Gawd!

However, you must take time to visit the Reverend Earnest Angley!

Praise Jeebus!

And I asked her once why she watched him. I said " you are not religious, why do you watch him?"

And she said.." No, but HE sure is" with a small smile.

If I had gone I'd been totally healed and wouldn't need the wheelchair any longer.

But, damn, I missed the rally and a chance for a cure for my spinal cord injury and a shot at eternity in heaven.

I guess I'll have to take solace in my bong and internet porn.

She would call claiming that her husband, "Willyim"
had the demonds. You'd hear wailing in the background
and then BAM. She's say to the counsellor, "I just
hit him with a fryin' pan. What do ah dooooo?"

They would just freak out. It was hilarious!

26. I used to know one of his victims
She is the mother of a severly disabled child. VERY RELIGIOUS, obviously. She would drag her and her other daughter, both of them under 10 years old to his shows in hopes of her daughter being healed. When I say her daughter is disabled she has dwarfism, has very delicate limbs has had multiple surgeries, is non-verbal has lots of problems with her organs, her face is malformed so she has sinus issues but a more lovely and loving sweet little girl you never met. She is very smart, has gorgeous eyes and is one of my favorite people in the whole world.

But her mother is a fanatic. Her husband kills himself working to support them and pay their medical bills. They sell Amway, and guess what, they are RABID Republicans. I lost touch with them several years ago and its probably a good thing because although I adore their children, the parents made me CRAZY. She bought this Benny Hinn thing hook line and sinker, sent him money, beleived her daughter would walk out of there cured one day and would try and "save me" all the time. She would tell me how she grieved for me because I would be left behind bla bla rapture bla bla.

It is just sad and criminal. People like Benny Hinn are no better than Jim Jones because she would have drank the cool aide and fed it to her kids without question if Hinn told her to!

31. I just read this testimonial...
on the Earnest Angeley site that grits mentioned:

2. God has been so good to this couple. Their many miracles include deliverance from alcohol, a recreated heart and carotid artery, dissolving a breast growth and the total recreation of a leg crushed in a car accident.

I wanna know that couple's name so I can avoid being anywhere near them. They are walking
disasters.
But, ya gotta admit, God apparently did more for them than Blue Cross ever would.

39. Who?
Never heard of him, altho I don't watch any of that crap anyways.

In the last couple of years I have thought that I could get into the Quaker faith, as they believe in no adornment at all and believe that god is in everyone, without the need for an intermediary such as a pastor or priest.
Course this dude sounds like he wouldn't like that brand as they wouldn't get him a private jet.

Oh, and the Buddhist thing, you keep coming back till you get it right.

44. NBC's Dateline investigated Benny the crook back in 2002
http://thejusticeofmh.blogspot.com/2008/01/nbc-dateline-benny-hinn-lavish.html
<snip>
The video above is worth the watch on self-proclaimed anointed Benny Hinn.

I always wonder what what televangelists do between their globe-trotting conversion crusades? This NBC Dateline special on Benny Hinn would put most true christians to shame.
Facts on Benny:-- Hinn's salary is somewhere between $500K and a million dollars per year.
-- he has a $10 million seaside mansion,.
-- he owns a private jet with annual operating costs of about $1.5 million. and he drives a Mercedes SUV and convertible, valued at about $80,000 each.

I agree with Christian watch dog, you're a servant for God's people, not a King and shouldn't be living like one.

Some will be shock. Some will not be surprise like me. Some will deny it, which would not surprise me.

47. The irony is, this new rule was probably aimed at Muslim preachers
because there have been concerns about people who come in, say they're here to preach, and then end up stirring up hatred and encouraging people to join terrorist groups. So they said they had to have a proper invitation from a genuine congregation to 'work' here as a preacher.

Nad now it turns out American evangelists get caught under the same rule.
