Has anyone seen the NewsMax subscription ad on
MSNBC? New Smax has a paper magazine, it seems. They like it so much that they'll send you a hand-crank, multi-band radio if you do a trial subscription. Just pay shipping and handling ($5.95).

Why is MSNBC accepting this ad for the worst publication on the planet?

If you're thinking about getting a free radio, be careful. If you don't cancel the trial, they'll bill your credit card for $39.95. If it's like a lot of these things, they'll charge your credit card either way, and you'll have to fight them to cancel.

The radio's most probably junk, anyhow, as is their publication.

1. Is it national MSNBC? Or your local cable operator?
MSNBC and most other basic cable channels are cash plus barter, which means that the local operator gets to sell certain blocks of ads each hour.

Anyhow, if Newsmax wants to give money to MSNBC, who are we to complain?

3. That's what I'm trying to figure out, actually,
by seeing if everyone's seeing them. If so, then it's probably MSNBC. If not, it's local media buys.

2. agency buys and spot placement
Bulk spots buys, ad placement. Whoever placed them might not even know who Newsmax is, it's just a name and number on the screen to them and they're trying to get everything placed and locked out so they can go home on time. Complain to MSNBC and see if they will pull them.
